Battle Up

Tav knew Luna was humoring her. Tav didn't care.

"I am going to want Demonsbane, Shadowfang, Shi'za, Arc. Luna the rest will stay with you to man the weapons. Remember there is a good chance for a monster stampede. If that happens the Dagon will focus on the stampede. We will deal with the dragon. The rest will come with me. Before we leave we need to get some Bolts and Arrows of Dragon Slaying."

After some shopping, the crew headed out to find the dragon.

Arc looked at Luna and Styx as they nodded at him. Arc said, "Stay safe and I'll be back once we have slain the dragon." Luna raised and eyebrow at Arc and asked, "Have you ever slain a dragon before Sir Arc?" Arc rubbed his helmet chin for a bit before he replied, "I can't remember much but I do recall moments of defeating a black dragon in my past and I am not alone this time. My allies are also strong so the odds are in our favor." Styx was hovering next to Luna as her wings flapped and had a stern look in her face as her fists pressed against her tiny waist. Styx replied, "I won't forgive you if you die Arc. You'll come back if you know what's good for you." Arc chuckled under his helmet and then nodded to the Pixie/Succubus Scout known as Styx.

Her father Frost noticed how close his daughter Styx and Arc were but lacked the courage to talk about it since he would look like a hypocrite if he judged her choice in companions. He then spoke up and said, "Fear not Sir Arc I will increase our odds with a battle hymn or two." Arc nodded as he replied, "Sounds good, just keep your eyes open for any surprises on the ground and in the air." Styx nodded as she replied, "Fair enough. Oh and bring me a dragon's tooth as proof of your success." Luna then chimed in as she replied, "Oh yeah try not to completely destroy it since I could really use the materials." Arc nodded as he replied, "Understood. We will do our best to salvage as much as we can."

Then Luna looked at the rest of the crew who was staying on board and explained what they would be doing on the air ship. Some would be look outs for enemies using the three foot long mounted telescope spyglasses Luna made for them that were set up around the open areas on the air ship. The rest of them would be loading and operating the ballistae, which consisted of four large ballistae on each side of the airship, eight small ballistae in each side of the ship and two in the back, one large catapult and magic cannon in the front. The large and small ballistae used cartridges containing 10 bolts which made loading and firing faster. This meant that some of the crew would be reloading the cartridges during combat and hanging them on the ammo racks to be used by the loader and gunner. Luna would be the one using the magic cannon since it required a lot of preparation. However the main catapult was operated by three strong crewmen to operate the crank and load the ammo (large rocks, small rocks, scrap metal, bombs, flammable bombs, Greek fire in a vase with a fuse and other nasty ammo Luna made.

After dropping off the dragon hunting team Luna and her crew set off in the air to hunt down the hoard of monsters they needed to defeat. Arc looked at Tav, Demonsbane, Shadowfang and Shi'za and said, "Shall we hunt a dragon?"
