It’s Raining Men

When the Mind Flayers ganged up on Demonsbane she realized she had a golden opportunity to test out a theory. Her body was redesigned to allow her infernal engine to vent excess heat to keep her from burning up or exploding. She knelt down to draw them in. This meant she would take more damage but it also meant a bigger pool of test subjects for her experiment. Once she had built up enough heat, she opened up her ventilator unleashing the hellfire inside her infernal engine. From her body hellfire poured out enveloping the Mind Flayers attacking her. She stood up with fire emanating from her body. Anyone who came close would catch fire.

Seeing the very large flames coming out of Demonsbane, Arc said, “Whoa!! Let’s avoid that area.” As Arc, Luna and Styx arrived at the front of the fight scene Luna then said, “Arc cover for me as I attack the Mind-flayers coming in!” Arc replied, “On it!” Then Arc raised his giant sword up and power slashed a Mind-flayer trying to enter past the gate. Luna then let more of her rat constructs out of her bag of holding to swarm through the gates towards the Mind-flayers charging in. Then several rat constructs jumped up and attacked the Mind-flayers tentacles by their faces. The mind-flayers were confused by the simple but ineffective attack and as they tried to yank off the metal rats they realize much to late as the metal rats exploded. The hot metal shrapnel burned as it tore into the faces and torsos of the Mind-flayers. If it didn’t kill them quickly, it left them mortally wounded and bleeding on the ground as they writhed in pain.

Tav when she saw the Mind Flayers erupting into flames thought something terrible had happened and proceeded to rush over to check on Demonsbane. About halfway to Demonsbane, she noticed that Demonsbane standing up and continuing to press the attack. "Demonsbane stay away from the forest, we don't need you starting a wildfire." Or do we? Could be useful. The magic people could put it out quickly. Probably. Hopefully. She shook her head. Doesn't matter animals would lose their homes and no matter how quickly some would die. As she wrestled with that she kept fighting.

As Arc was power slashing the incoming Mind-flayers, Styx was telling him where the next attack was coming from. This gave Arc a much faster reaction to his attacks and defense. Luna stayed safe behind Arc as she used her self-destruction metal rats to pick off several Mind-flayers.

Fera continued to lead the attackers from the walls. A magic user joined them from their party. She had no clue what kind of magic user or his name. "Tell me you have water-based spells?" The magic-user shook his head. "Good. Your primary job is to stop that towering inferno from starting a wildfire. As long as that isn't a problem focus your magic on the Mind Flayers."

By this point more members from the team mission arrived and aided in the defense of the gate. By triple teaming and quadruple teaming, they gained the upper hand at picking off the Mind-flayers that broke through the front lines.

Shi'za was dual wielding her Githyanki Shortsword & Voss' Silver Sword going berserk against the Mind Flayers. If she got injured it just made her fight harder. At one point she stabbed a Mind Flayer in the shoulders with both swords. She then used the swords as handles bash her face into the Mind Flayer's face repeatedly.

Unfortunately Shi’za’s lack of teamwork put her in the line of fire So while she was trying show off, she failed to notice the large number of Mind-flayers approaching her as she was stuck fighting one Mind-flayer. Seeing as this was going to be a big problem, Luna told Arc to hurl the dead Mind-flyer he just struck down over Shi’za’s head and into the group of Mind-flyers heading for her. It was then that Arc realized the Mind-flyer corpse he was about to hurl had several metal rats now attached to it. So as Arc hurled the Mind-flayer corpse, its blood rained down on Shi’za’s head. Then as the corpse was about to land in the middle of the mind-flare group, Luna set off the explosion and took out another group of Mind-flayers and caused it to rain body parts on Shi’za.
