After Dinner Meeting

As Elizabeth suspected, by the time they reached home it was around 4:45 and dinner was to be served at 6 PM which was early for many places but it actually ran from 6 PM - 8 PM, so guests could come and go as they chose.

Elizabeth chose to have the team attend dinner at 6, as they would have a meeting afterwards. Before dinner she had met with Vor and he updated her on what he knew.

Dinner conversation could not have been about the assignment because of the others there, so it was casual. Then, once everyone was done with dinner and a short break.

The meeting was held in, what was basically the dining room of the guest house, the servants had prepared snacks and drinks. It was about 7:30 PM when Elizabeth arrived in the room, took a seat at the head of the table, got herself a cup of tea from one of the servants and waited on the others. In front of her were some files, and a few field books.

After a nice Norwegian dinner, Cronk was in a good mood. While he was off with Maseo, he was introduced to a merchant selling a booze called Aquavit. Aquavit is a neutral spirit distilled from grain or potato (much like vodka or gin), aquavit is most commonly flavored with caraway as its dominant spice, though dill is prevalent as well. Styles of aquavit vary and often include other spices, such as fennel, coriander, citrus and anise. Cronk found the taste to be comforting and relaxing. Sadly it was a bit strong so he did get a bit wobbly after dinner. Luckily he could sit for the meeting and sober up a bit.

Vor on the other hand was in a good mood due to the food and culture of Norway. He found it very comforting and being around his kind was very pleasant as well. Ironically he didn't have much time to enjoy the town since he had immersed himself in the library to do his research for Lady Elizabeth. However now it was a bit late in the day to look around the town so he would have to wait for a better time. Ironically even though they were starting a meeting he was once again reading another book.

After a nice dinner Lily and Dr. Jackal made their way to the meeting room. Lily enjoyed talking to the good doctor about what she knew of Norwegian food and culture. Granted she was not an expert but she did enjoy the good doctor lending her an ear to her wisdom.

Lorem had also spent time at the library before dinner but was reading up on the engines of the carts, as they were technically behind what the gnome was used to working with.

Sung had spent the day wandering the city with Lady Elizabeth, Doctor Jackal and Lily.

They both arrived soon after Lily and Dr. Jackal.

Sung sat sipping his whiskey drink. It had been a long day, and he thought it was a good time to relax. For his part, things were running smoothly so far. He had to do little, as the team knew what they were doing. He chuckled to himself, thinking he might be out of a job soon if they keep this up.

Sasha arrived to the meeting carrying a book and lose pages of notes. Looking like she'd been working on something all the free time she'd had since getting back, but otherwise she didn't look frazzled. Just lost in thought. She took her place and spread out the notes ready to answer any questions that could come her way.

Eventually Masao, also arrived wearing a pair of tinted sunglasses that had little shields on the side of his eyes from light. When entering the room he leaned on the door frame a moment, and sighed before coming in. "Evening everyone." He greeted them all in a general way before sitting down rather quickly. Clearly he was feeling the after effects of trying to drink with a dwarf.

"Well, it looks as if everyone is here." Elizabeth gave everyone a few minutes to get settled and any refreshments they might want. Once everyone seemed ready the meeting started.

Elizabeth pulled out an envelope that was cream colored with gold marks on the side, and calligraphy on the front. If one could see the back they would know that a reddish wax seal had been broken.

Elizabeth held up the envelope and pulled out the card inside, it was also cream colored with hand drawn gold flowers and more calligraphy.
