Bad Date? Good Date? Ohhhh

Gelf froze and her entire face turned beet red. “W-what?” She meowed in shock. Some of the other patrons were now staring at them.

Sorley wished he could drown himself. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” He apologized, knocking over his chair as he stood up. “I-I’ll go!” He stammered.

“What? No, don’t go!” Gelf blurted and hopped up, taking his hand. “I love you too!”

Sorley stared at Gelf, wondering if he was hearing things or if Gelf was just being nice. He really liked how it felt to have her hold his hand though. “I’m sorry.” He stammered again.

“No need to apologize, Sorley.” Gelf said, squeezing his hand gently. With her free hand, she reached up and touched his face. “I mean it…I love you too.”

Sorley froze again, enjoying the feel of Gelf’s hand touching his face. Tears came to his eyes.

Before he could shed those tears, Gelf’s soft lips pressed to his in a gentle kiss.

Sorley’s eyes widened for a second before instinct kicked in and he gently kissed her back, his fingers lightly brushing Gelf’s hair.

A happy purr vibrated from Gelf as she enjoyed the kiss, only pulling back to catch her breath. That was when the whole place burst into cheer…

Sorley dreamily gazed at Gelf, until the cheer snapped him back to reality. His eyes popped. “Oh my god- I’m so sorry!” Sorley apologized, dropping his arms.

“Why are you sorry?” Gelf purred as she gazed up at him. “They’re just happy for us.”

“I shouldn’t have done that!” Sorley panicked, stepping back from Gelf. Kissing her was the most amazing thing he had ever felt in his life, it had to be wrong.

“Don’t go!” Gelf looked at him pleadingly.

Sorley stopped and stood still. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that to you.” He apologized, the tears breaking free.

“Stop being sorry.” Gelf retorted as she stepped toward him. “I’m happy you did it.”

“Really?” Sorley thought she was just being nice. He felt like such a scumbag.

“Really,” She insisted and grabbed his hand, pulling him back to the table. “Lets eat, okay? We deserve a good dinner, after all.”

“Okay.” Sorley returned to the table, but he felt so much guilt roiling around in his stomach he could only pick at his food.

“I enjoyed the kiss…” Gelf whispered to him.

Sorley was startled, he stared at Gelf. She did not look upset at all. Could it be true?

Gelf tilted her head to the side and adjusted the pins in her hair that kept her ears hidden. “What?”

“I never want to hurt you.” Sorley said in a soft voice, there were a lot of emotions going on inside.

“You could never hurt me.” Gelf chimed.

Sorley shook his head, thinking Gelf trusted him too much and it made her even more vulnerable to him hurting her. His throat felt so tight he could not speak.

Gelf could see he was uncomfortable and called the waiter over. She asked for to-go boxes and put her food in one of the boxes. Her appetite was gone and she worried she’d done something wrong now.
