Room Invasion! (Pt 3)
Tzeitel ran to her bathroom to throw up, or spit up some bile since she had not eaten today. She did not think she was that strong.
Nine, very worried about her, followed and crouched by the door. He let out a soft whine.
Tzeitel rinsed out her mouth with some mouthwash. She looked at Nine. At least he could not go tattling to Klaire about her getting sick. Tzeitel suspected it was from not eating enough. She had a hard time keeping an appetite.
Nine kept watching her, concern in his fox-like eyes. It was obvious he wanted to help, but had no clue how to do so. All he could do was sit there and pawed the air with one hand as if trying to soothe her.
“I’m fine.” Tzeitel lied. Her emotions were still all over the place, she was afraid to leave her room, she kept getting flashbacks, she had so many scars including a still itching c-section scar so she could never forget what was done to her. “I’m fine.” She lied again.
Nine’s instincts told him she was lying, so he went over to her on all fours and nuzzled against her leg. His shirt had ridden up a bit and a lot of ugly and deep scars could be seen. He was as tortured as her…
“Please, I don’t like being touched.” Tzeitel winced, feeling even worse when she saw his scars.
Nine’s only form of affection was nuzzling, so he flinched away and his ears fell back in shame.
“I’m sorry, I’m useless.” Tzeitel said. She found herself remembering how she sent away her own babies and never saw them again.
Nine whined again and nudged her with a small headbutt to her leg.
Tzeitel stepped away. “Please stop… please just go.” She whispered.
Nine looked confused and stared up at her. Was she trying to get rid of him?
That was when the door to the room opened and Klaire walked in. “Tzeitel?” She called.
Tzeitel guiltily looked away from Klaire. “Why aren’t you spending time with your family?” She asked, not wanting Klaire to see her crying yet again.
“I was told there was an incident,” Klaire said with a sigh, finally noticing Nine. “Who’s he again?” She’d forgotten who he was because he’d always been in a different place.
Nine growled and hid behind Tzeitel.
“Nine.” Tzeitel said. “You know how MegaCorp treats metas with animal DNA. He doesn’t know how to walk upright and broke his nose trying.” Tzeitel still was not looking Klaire in the eye.
“Look at me,” Klaire said and jumped when Nine snarled at her. “Hey, don’t sass me!”
Nine whimpered and went back to hiding.
“I’m fine, Klaire.” Tzeitel said stiffly, still not looking at her. “You can go, your family needs you.”
“I’m shocked you’re letting a guy near you.” Klaire pointed out.
“I’m trying to get him to leave.” Tzeitel said. “He’s more like a puppy than a guy.”
“Well, if he’s attached to you you’re stuck with him now.” Klaire said.
“I want him to go.” Tzeitel said irritably, looking at her feet.
Klaire thought for a long time. “You can figure that out.” She said. “You’re right, though. I need to see my family.”
She left before Tzeitel could protest, hoping Nine would be as stubborn as he looked.
Tzeitel had hoped Klaire would take Nine with her. “Damn it.” She muttered. At least Klaire did not notice that she had thrown up.
Nine’s ears twitched before he went to the door and kicked it shut. He did not like Klaire.
