To The Farm!

“I’m sorry I ruined our date.” Sorley whispered.

“You didn’t ruin our date.” Gelf sighed softly. “I did.”

She shouldn’t have kissed him.

Once they had gotten everything boxed up and paid for, she left with Sorley.

“I did. I shouldn’t have taken advantage of you. I’m so sorry.” Sorley apologized again as they left.

“You didn’t take advantage of me, Sorley. I kissed you first.” Gelf pointed out as they walked.

“I shouldn’t have kissed you back.” Sorley felt sick. He loved Gelf and he had hurt her.

“I wanted you to kiss back.” Gelf replied. “How is that bad?”

“I… I don’t know.” Sorley said. “But I know I did you wrong.”

“You did NOT do me wrong, Sorley.” Gelf persisted as they reached their meeting place from earlier. She stopped, not wanting to leave him yet. “I don’t want this to ruin our relationship.”

“It’s me...” Sorley said. “I’m sorry.” He felt absolutely miserable. Gelf deserved better than this, better than him.

Gelf, wanting to distract him, grabbee the collar of his shirt and pulled him into another kiss to shut him up.

Sorley gasped, too startled to kiss her back or do anything but stand there and let her kiss him. He didn’t not like it.

Gelf eventually pulled away and stared at him. “I know it’s only been a month since we met, Sorley, but I love you. I’ve never felt such a deep connection and pull to any man in my life. Even if you choose not to return this feeling, I will always love you.” She explained.

Sorley stared at her. She… Gelf was telling the truth. “I feel the same way.” He confessed.

A loving smile formed on her face. “Then never feel guilty when it comes to me.” She told him before giving him a tight hug.

Sorley hugged her back, but he still could not shake the feeling that he had taken advantage of her. He realized it was irrational, and it was probably from how he was raised and what had happened to him. “Something’s wrong with me.” Sorley admitted.

“What do you mean?” Gelf asked, tilting her head to the side. “Are…are you sick? Do you have a cold? A fever?!” She raised a hand to his forehead with worry.

“Stuff happened to me. Growing up.” Sorley wasn’t ready to talk about it.

“Oh,” Gelf got the hint pretty easily and squeezed his hand. “There’s a doctor in the Underground. Chi. He could…and they’ll have another one soon. They’re therapists…”

“I don’t know if therapy can help…” Sorley admitted. The thought of talking about it terrified him. He wanted to go to the lake and just go under the surface until the rest of the world felt far away.

“Just think about it.” Gelf said with a kind smile. “He helps me a lot when I go to my appointments. Dr. Chi, I mean. I can easily help you set up an appointment and go with you for your first visit if you want.”

“Maybe.” Sorley was thinking about it though. He really loved Gelf, and she was not lying or just being nice when she said she loved him too.

Gelf nodded in understanding. “I, sadly, need to get home to check on Herbert, Carla and the other animals.” She admitted, still not wanting to go.

“Can I help?” Sorley asked, not wanting to be separated either.

“You might have to stay if you do.” She teased.

“I will never take advantage of you!” Sorley blushed. “I won’t ruin your reputation either.”

Gelf blinked and giggled. “I didn’t mean anything like that silly. I’m just saying it’s already getting late and you might need to stay to get rest. I just don’t want you to be late for work.”

“I’m not worried about being late to work. I’ll be okay.” Sorley said.

Gelf couldn’t help but find him to be the most adorable man alive. Pulling him into a hug, she let out a happy meow and they were suddenly in her front yard. “Welcome to my home!”

Sorley smiled, he had gotten used to the disorientation of Gelf teleporting. “It looks great.”

The farmland was huge and the forest even had a path that would lead them to the pond. “If you want to see the pond tomorrow, that’s the path that leads to it!” Gelf said, always thinking of him.

Sorley memorized where the path was. “Great.”
