Room Invasion! (Pt 2)

“Oh shit!” Tzeitel panicked. She grabbed her phone to call for help.

Sadly, Klaire was busy dealing with things, so it would be Dr. Chi who arrived. His wife, Nurse, would walk in as he waited outside patiently.

“What happened?” She asked as she went over to them.

Nine tried to hide behind Tzeitel almost instantly. All other women freaked him out.

“He fell and now his nose is gushing blood!” Tzeitel spoke rapidly, turning trying to get Nine out from behind herself.

Nine let out a growl toward the Nurse and moved back, hiding under Tzeitel’s desk that Klaire had gotten brought in over the past month.

“Seems he doesn’t want me touching him.” Nurse said calmly as she opened her first aid kit. “I’ll need you to do it since he trusts you.”

“I- I don’t… I can’t touch him.” Tzeitel wished Klaire was here. She did not know how to handle this.

“I need your help with this.” Nurse insisted. “No one else is coming and his nose is obviously broken. You need to break it back into place.”

Nine peeked out at Tzeitel, blood dripping down from his chin now.

“That will hurt!” Tzeitel was horrified. “I c-can’t do that.”

“You must,” Nurse insisted and went to the bathroom. She got a washcloth and soaked it, squeezing it a bit over the sink before returning. Handing it over to Tzeitel, she dug out a few more things. “Get to it.”

This was the real world and Tzeitel was witnessing the difficult challenges she would have to face now.

“If he bleeds to death, I will have to report it.” Nurse pointed out.

Tzeitel gulped. She felt sick but she pressed the washcloth to Nine’s bleeding nose. “Please don’t die.”

Nine grunted and tried to push her hand away, but was too gentle when it came to Tzeitel, more proof that he trusted her.

“Hold his nose firmly and break it back into place, but don’t move it too far.” Nurse informed as she walked over with the supplies.

“H-how would i know if it’s too far?” Tzeitel asked.

“You’ll know from the feeling of it.” Nurse replied and helped her with a hand motion to show her what to do.

Tzeitel gulped and tried to do what Nurse told her.

A loud yelp came from Nine and he tried to jerk away, but Nurse handed Tzeitel some tissue. “Up the nose!” She ordered and set up a few things to put on the outside of said nose for swelling and to keep it in place. “Why was he trying to walk anyway?”

Tzeitel obeyed Nurse but felt like she was torturing the boy. “I don’t know- why shouldn’t he try to walk? He’s human.” Tzeitel had seen how metas with animal DNA had been dehumanized even more than other metas (who were also dehumanized but not to that degree), she remembered the messed up stuff they did to Klaire. “Maybe he’s trying to take back what MegaCorp took from him.”

“Understandable, but he hasn’t attempted to walk this entire month since he arrived. It’s just surprising.” Nurse admitted. “Keep him held still, please.” She said and added the little splint for his nose.

Nine grumbled and his tail smacked the floor in discomfort, but he stayed still for Tzeitel.

“I don’t know why now.” Tzeitel said. “C-can I let go of him now?”

Nurse finished her work and moved away. “Yes, but wipe off the blood first, please.”

Nine whined and stared at Tzeitel, trust in his eyes.

Tzeitel wiped off the blood, very gentle despite trying to get it done quickly.

Nine let out a little happy fox noise and gave Tzeitel a small smile.

“He truly does trust you,” Nurse commented as she cleaned everything up, even taking the washcloth from Tzeitel so she didn’t have to deal with it. “Thank you for your help.”

“Thanks for helping.” Tzeitel said, remembering the feel of Nine’s nose being reset and feeling like throwing up.

Nurse set a hand on Tzeitel’s shoulder gently. “My husband is right about you, Tzeitel. You are far stronger than you think.” She told her before leaving.

Nine, finally comfortable with Nurse gone, crawled out and looked at Tzeitel.
