Sneaky Little Plots Between Friends
Getting everything done, she checked his vitals again to make sure there were no changes due to the blood work. “Okay, we-”
That was when the door opened and Riven and Alex stepped in. “Do you know what knocking is?!” she growled.
“No,” Riven said with a grin that got a scalpel thrown at him. He stopped it with ice and chuckled. “She's still fast as hell.”
Alex stood behind Riven “sorry Loreen we thought you guys were done I'll hang a socks on the door.”
“Done with what, you little pervert?!” Loreen glared at Alex with threats in her eyes.
“Not now, dude…” Riven groaned.
“Checking out I mean checking up on my cousin” he chuckled before getting a clever idea. “Say cuz how are you feeling about doing some field work?”
Radar tugged on Riven's clothes “um should we be disturbing the mating ritual like this?” He whispered. .
“It's not a mating ritual, Radar…” Riven said with a sigh. “This is medical at the moment. Plus, Loreen would get in trouble if they mated in this room.”
Loreen glared at Alex. “He is ready for such work, actually. Physically, anyway, but I do not propose he do anything strenuous yet.”
“Well it's nothing too strenuous just hunting down the lightning girl” Alex replied in a casual tone “though we could use someone with medical experience. Maybe someone who can keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't hurt himself. I know River has some medical experience.”
Radar continues to whisper to Riven “It’s obvious by her scent she fancies him why does she not simply claim him as her mate it's obvious Abraham's daughter has started to stake her claim as well.”
“It’s not our business, Radar. Hush.” Riven gave him a warning growl.
“Are you suggesting bringing that little…” Loreen glared at Alex with hate in her eyes. She obviously detested River.
“I'm just saying we need a medic” Alex smirked “if you're free to join then even better since you know Riley's biology ‘ intimately’ you'd be perfect.”
“It would be nice to get out for a bit” Riley mumbled. The mission would get him some fresh air and a break from avoiding Klaire.
“Fine, I’ll go…if Riley speaks to Klaire before we leave.” Loreen said with a smirk.
Riven glanced at Radar with an ‘oh shit’ expression on his face.
Riley gave Loreen a hurt look before fidgeting with his hands. “I'm…. Sure…. She's busy… Right now…”
“No, you’ve been avoiding her on purpose.” Loreen crossed her arms, frowning. “It’s time you faced this. Even Dr. Chi said you should speak with her about things.”
“can it please wait?” He asked.
“sorry Riley but I'm with her on this” Alex added “she's hurt by your actions.”
“I’ve run into her a few times, Riley.” Loreen continued. “She asks about you every time and if there’s a chance you two can talk. It killed her every time she infiltrated a facility to find it without you or Tzeitel and now she’s taking care of her friend all alone.”
Riley shook feeling guilty and nervous as he tried to control his breathing right now. “..... fine…..” he relented. “I'll be in my room waiting” Within a blink he was gone from the room.
“I'll pack some of his favorite food” Alex sighed before looking to Loreen “You're bunking with him on this trip something tells me he's going to be upset.”
Loreen sighed and nodded. “Yeah, I know. He better talk to Klaire…”
Alex nodded and texted Klaire to inform her.
“Something tells me this is going to be chaos.” Riven muttered as he headed out of the room. Grinning, he sent River a message to join them. The little shit…
Radar followed behind him “you seem to inform River about Riley and Loreen frequently” he stated.
“Hush, you,” Riven swatted at Radar playfully.
This was going to be chaotic…
Alex put away his phone “I texted Klaire I'd say check in on Riley after you're done pack” he sighed pausing at the door. “Riley's not the only one who needs to stop putting things off I'm rooting for you but if you don't act River will.”
Loreen merely glared at Alex before getting to work. She wasn’t going to talk to Alex of all people about this. A part of her wanted to be with Riley, but the logical half knew she didn’t deserve him. He had been put through hell thanks to her and River…River was a ray of sunshine, a little light at the end of the hall that could save Riley. She could help him where Loreen would only hurt him.
“You deserve to be happy too” he replied leaving to pack.
Once done cleaning up, Loreen got to work on packing.
