The Mission (Pt 1)

Alex smiled as he looked at the painting in front of him. Since the birth of the twins he figured Klaire would love a portrait of them alongside Ami and Cody. Dipping his brush in a new color he hummed to himself.

Riven stepped into the room, knocking on the doorframe. “Hey, Delilah wants to speak to you.” He said in a stiff tone. His dark eyes were full of exhaustion from keeping up with Nine, Joel and Radar. Not to mention, he’d been put in charge of keeping Nero in check, too. The giant had proven to be quite a handful and not just because he was a cannibal with a temper.

Alex nodded and put down the brush “pups got you running ragged?” He asked in a concern tone.

“It that obvious?” Riven asked through a yawn.

“If you need some rest you could try talking to Delilah, Mark or Abraham” he replied as they walked. “At the very least they'll take radar and Joel off your hands.”

“I’ve already handed Joel and Radar over to Abe for the day.” Riven said as he brushed his hair out of his face. “Again, Delilah needs to talk to you. She wants us to go on a mission…there’s been another city destroyed by lightning.”

“Alex nodded and followed Riven to where Delilah and Mark were waiting. “You wanted to see me boss?” he replied with a smile trying to keep a positive attitude.

“Hello, Alex,” Delilah said with a sad sigh as she looked at the screen of the television. There was news coverage of a powerful lightning meta destroying a city in Texas. “Seems she’s struck again.”

“And you want us to get a team together to hunt her down and see if we can stop her?” Riven asked.

“Yes, but try your best not to kill her.” She replied. “I trust you to get a team together as co-leaders. You're both smart and brilliant strategists. I want you to combine that with your hunting abilities, Riven. As for you, Alex, I know you have come up with an anti-electric metal.” She was obviously very proud of Alex and his hard work for the Underground.

Alex nodded “I've been working on something that can contain her nothing pretty but it'll get the job done till we bring her here.”

Delilah nodded in understanding. “Just make sure you're all careful. Be sure to take a healer with you.” She explained.

“Will do,” riven replied.

Alex nodded before turning to Riven “who do you think we should take then?”

“I was thinking Radar since he's got very good hearing, even better than my own.”

Alex nodded “yeah kids a tech wiz as well what about a healer?”

Riven had to think for a bit. “All our meta healers are kids, so I suggest we talk to Loreen and see if she'll come along. She's a brilliant medic.”

Alex nodded “let's go get Radar first now is the time she's usually giving Riley his medical checkup.”

After they picked up Radar, they went to get Riley and Loreen.
