Personality/Interests

Her sister wants Ami to go away to a good college when she graduates. And Ami does think she would like to go to college someday. But for now she wants to join the defenders, and when she isn’t studying she is training to become a defender behind Tzeitel’s back.

History

Ami was born to a pair of abusive drug addicts who put her life at risk daily by cooking meth. Then one day the sister Ami did not even know she had showed up while her parents were beating her over some imagined crime. Tzeitel beat the crap out of them both and got Ami out of there. The pair lived on the streets for a while, which Ami did not think was bad at all. She was not being abused and was actually getting to eat more often than she did with her parents. Ami witnessed a lot that she should not have during that brief period as a street kid.
Tzeitel soon got them an apartment in Crescent Lake Mountain and Ami enrolled at school, Ami had not even attended school before because her parents were so negligent. Ami was years behind her classmates, but it turned out that despite her parents calling her stupid her whole life Ami is actually incredibly intelligent. Possibly even a genius. Ami has done incredibly well at school. Tzeitel has talked to Ami about sending her to college after graduating high school. Ami wants to go to college someday, but has been leaning more and more towards becoming a defender in the town. Ami knows Tzeitel really wants her to get out of this town to someplace safer where she can be more successful, so has not mentioned it to her sister and has been training in secret.
