Discussing Lorem's Ideas (Part 1)

Elizabeth had sent one of the servants to fetch Lorem and bring the gnome to the office. She had some tea freshly made so the two could speak.

It was Lorem's first day but Elizabeth was curious to see how things were getting on. So, she poured herself a cup of tea and waited on Lorem's arrival.

Lorem had excused herself earlier than the rest during last evening’s dinner. It was self evident that a gnome would eat and drink less than the other races present, finishing quicker. And it was easier for her to convince herself that her time would be better spent finishing setting up her new quarters than sitting through a social engagement. Therefore, after bidding the new team members goodnight, she had spent the rest of the evening completing the assembly and hook ups for her compartmentalized living quarters and belongings.

She went to bed later than she would have liked; however, she had been determined to complete those tasks so that the new day would not be encumbered by them.

The following day she literally spent almost every waking moment hidden away in the carriage house working on designs. If not for the occasional interruption from a staff member bringing food and drink, she might have forgotten to attend to those basic needs entirely. It was easy when in the thrall of the creative process to lose track of such things as that and time. It was only because of the authority that Lady Elizabeth held that she humbled herself to be pulled away from her labors and ground her thinking back down to other matters.

Lorem made herself presentable, which didn’t entail a shower, makeup, or change of clothes; however, instead was just making the best of her current state. She made sure to release the straps and buckles which converted her attire from that of more boyish to feminine. She then was escorted to Lady Elizabeth. She entered meekly and curtseyed to the Lady of the house upon entering the room.

“Good afternoon Lady Elizabeth.” She paused “Did your visit to the guild go well?”

"Good afternoon, Miss Lorem." Elizabeth gave the gnome a friendly smile. "It went quite well or at least I know now why Doctor Lemaire might have stolen the Visage." Stopping herself from going on about it at the moment. "Please have a seat. Would you care for some tea?"

Elizabeth gave Lorem enough time to sit and decide about the tea before adding. "So, how has your afternoon been?"

Lorem smiled at the news of progress and hopped up onto the offered chair. “Tea would be lovely thank you.” She settled into a proper sitting position with good posture.

“Is it that late already?” She genuinely seemed surprised by the time of day. “Time moves fast when one is having fun.” She grinned to herself softly.

“I am happy to report I have made great progress on several designs. They were originally side projects of mine, some of which I have been working on for years. I have been redrafting the blueprints I brought with me with updates and modifications I think might be useful to the team.”

She took her tea from one of the servants with a grateful smile. Lorem whispered, “thank you kindly.”

"It is about two o'clock or so." The Eldren responded. Which was about two hours early for actual tea. "I just thought it would be a good time for a spot of tea."

Elizabeth nodded as Lorem explained about the designs. "I am certainly curious to see the designs. Please, go on." Moving her tea cup to the side, so Lorem could present her blueprints.

Lorem conjectured that Elizabeth would want to see the designs so she had brought them with her rolled up in protective carrying tubes.

She finished her next sip of tea, which she had to use two hands for, and then carefully placed the porcelain container down to the side. Hopping down, she retrieved the cases and brought them over to show one at a time. Each one contained technical draftings of the components and connections; including writing in German of all pertinent information regarding measurements and materials.

They could very well be works of art. And each had numerous pages in order to represent all the information and details.

The first blueprint she showed was that of a tactile mobile transport, similar to a bus, that could handle the entire team. It also contained multiple compartments and configurations that might assist in their more dangerous and investigatory endeavors.

As Elizabeth was beginning to look at it, Lorem continued to display the others around the room.
