Breakfast
May 13, 1889 - Monday
Around 7 AM
Elizabeth awoke, unusually groggy. After she had finally gotten a chance to go to bed, the Eldren had spent over an hour attempting to heal herself more. Her headache making the task difficult. Sleep was definitely lacking but her headache was, at least, not as bad as last night.
After getting dressed she made her way to the dining room. She was the first to arrive and the servants went about serving Elizabeth some tea, as she waited for the others.
Sung was glad he did not go out last night. The chance to rest was good for him. Sung did wonder how Miss Lavigne and Dr. Jackal were fairing. This was not his operation; he just had to calm himself.
Washing up first Sung got his black suit back on and placed the cards back into his pocket. They were thicker than normal playing cards, more like calling cards with a framed black dragon on one side and black with white Japanese word darkness. These were weapons and calling cards for Sung. He walked to the other side of his bed, picked up his Katana Fukushū no seishin(Vengeful Spirit) made of Damascus steel elegant sword and walked downstairs.
Walking into the dining room Sung saw Elizabeth, smiled, and gave a bow. "My Lady, How are you?" asked Sung as he made his way to the table.
"I am feeling a little better, thank you." Elizabeth returned the smile. "Mr. Sung, you certainly look ready for today.”
"I am happy to hear you are doing better. If I can do anything for you let me know." expressed Sung. Sung gave a more serious look "I am done with the whole spy thing. They know who we are now so why hide it? They have made a grave mistake by taking Miss Lavigne and Dr. Jackal. That made you look bad and I as well. They will pay for that mistake and let it be a signal to others who wish to do so, " explained Sung, his tone unemotional and almost distant.
"I never thought that anything could wake the Vengeful Spirit but their actions have. Don't worry I won't kill everyone. My Lady stated that this was a scouting mission. but if I find them I will kill anyone in my way." Elizabeth had not seen this side of Sung since a child. Even Harold paused before entering the room when he saw Sung. Then gave a bow to Sung and went into the kitchen. The maids came out with Sung's favorite tea and some pastries.
"Well, Mr. Sung, I am not in a condition to be there. So, yes, I am sending you, Miss Lagrave and Captain Maseo on a scouting mission but I am also not saying to not take advantage of any opportunities which might present themselves. I will not be there to say no." Elizabeth paused. "There is something concerning me, beyond everything else that has occurred. I do not believe it was William who attacked me. There was just something about the attack that was different, and had more force to it. Just be on the lookout, I would not be surprised if they have an empirical mage.”
"An empirical mage, did you feel its presence or just instinct?" asked Sung trying to get a little information. Sung thought about the last time he had fought something that powerful. He spent some time in a hospital. You can heal great amounts of damage with magic. but there is still recovery. Sung knew he should have been dead after the fight. His instincts started to call out to him. Maybe he should take his father's sword with him.
"This could be troublesome. I have been feeling it too now and then. I can't find what it is or where it is. If it is an empirical mage I will try to get the team out of there and regroup here. at the house, if the Mage tries to follow us." planned Sung. "I will try to lead the Mage off. They probably already know where the house is. Who is here and knows our schedules? I would guess." informed Sung taking a sip of his tea.
"I don't believe I felt their presence. It's more the difficulty in healing from the attack and how it's lingering. Just it would not surprise me." Elizabeth didn't know how to explain it. "They know about me. I received a message last night from the kidnappers asking for money and a book the guild has. They might know about Cronk but I don't know about anyone else on the team. Your plan is good though.”
Vor was startled awake by a servant gently shaking him, his groggy vision barely able to show that he had slept in the library. The small pile of books reminded him of the decent amount of progress he had made in his research and he had even thought to write it down before apparently collapsing.
Thanking the man and getting the time, he set his mind to business immediately and asked about Iris's condition as well, relieved to hear she still slept at the moment.
Feeling his skin protest at movement he could tell he needed a good soak, but wasn't quite ready to be left to his thoughts. Not with the day he had before him. He could not ignore the call for food however and made his way to the dining room, glad to see Elizabeth in apparently better condition as he gave her and Sung a small bow.
"My Lady, Mr. Sung. Good morning.”
Lorem had been required to sleep inside the main house last night on account of safety. Away from her gizmos, customized living space and gadget noises, it felt quite foreign last night to be in a big persons ornate room.
The bed alone felt like an open ocean. It stretched on beyond limits and had a softness to it that threatened to engulf the petite gnome. The blankets were thick and heavy. Once she burrowed into them, the weight compressed her until she felt like a bun baking in an oven. The combination of plush pillows, warm blankets, silence and a soft mattress took Lorem to slumber in record time.
She woke up refreshed and struggled to get out of the bed; the warm cozy feeling making her body feel sluggish. Once free through, her pace quickened. It took some ingenuity to interact with the scale of things; however she nimbly managed it.
She saw others had already arrived when she came on the scene. Lorem curtseyed and gave a general good morning to all there. The young gnome was dressed per usual work attire and her long blonde hair was intricately braided down the back. She was most pleased to see Lady Elizabeth seemed to be well.
Sung nodded and gave a greeting to all who came into the dining room for breakfast. When Harold came into the room. Sung gave a smile. "Hate to bother you Harold, but can you put this away and bring me Heavens Wind, please," requested Sung with much respect. My Lady, do you have a time frame you would like us to have?" asked Sung as he served himself some fruit. on to his plate.
Elizabeth greeted those that came in the room, as well. In response to Sung's question, she said. "That can be discussed when Miss Lagrave and Captain Maseo arrive."
Harold just gave a nod and, "Of course, Sir." And saw that Sung's request was taken care of.
