The Latest Arrivals (Part One)
JP with Redsword, mdman, and Cindy
Elizabeth had sent a carefully worded message to the Baron. She had not informed the man that her parents were coming in a week, the Baron might get notice from her father but she really hoped not. 'Let us see how he likes surprises.' This note had to do with the spy and what had occurred today, because she wanted to gave Greenwood no reason to send more spies.
As promised, ten minutes and she was by the front door. She asked Harold to fetch them a cab, so as soon as Sung was ready they could go.
Right behind Lady Elizabeth Sung walked up. Harold smiled "My Lady it will be just a moment." replied Harold
Sung gave a small bow to Lady Elizabeth. Standing beside her "Lady Elizabeth, maybe we should have put Cronk on standby for a quick move. Miss. Lagrave follow us to see if we are being followed." suggested Sung. "I wonder if they are watching Clement's quarters," says Sung. He was thinking and hoped he got Elizabeth thinking too.
Elizabeth was a smart leader she was wise beyond her years. Sung was very proud of her. "if you wanted to get back at the Baron you could let him know about your Parints let's say few days before they arrive." said Ung with a mischievous grin.
"I believe Lamaire is not here to follow us, or Cronk would have likely noticed and informed us. He was just out front." Whether that would have been with words or the screams of Lamaire as Cronk smashed him, was anyone's guess. "They could be watching Clement's home but if that was the case why not try to capture him, when he was headed home on the evening? It would be easier than broad daylight." Elizabeth had pondered on this a while and she didn't think that Sasha following them was necessary. "I think we can just keep our eyes out."
Elizabeth bit her lip, at Sung's words about the Baron. "Mr. Sung, for your information, I was not going to inform the Baron about my parents visit at all." Her tone was formal, but a small grin threatened her lips.
Harold then entered. "My Lady, Mr. Sung your cab has arrived."
"Mr. Sung, if you please." Elizabeth made her way through the door, which Harold was holding open, and to the cab. The cab driver was holding the door open to the vehicle. Elizabeth climbed into the cab, taking a seat, and giving the address to the driver.
"My Lady" replied Sung also getting in. It was more apparent that Sung was carrying his sword now as he sat back. not that you could not see the slight bump in the front of his trench coat if you know what you were looking for. Now the sword was at his side.
"Good to hear, I might be rubbing off on you more than I think," said Sung with his own grin. "I am sure when he does find out we should not have any problems with him," Sung says looking out the window. "Just hope everything turns out for the Clement boy. he kind of grows on you," commented Sung with a smile.
Elizabeth noticed the sword, as she knew quite well what to look for but she would have been only surprised if Sung hadn't brought a sword with him.
"No problems, at least until my parents leave." Elizabeth gave a small nod to what Sung said yes. "He certainly does and once his family is living at the estate, it should be easy to keep them safe."
Elizabeth hadn't ever wanted, to put Clement in danger. She felt protective of the young boy, maybe not even realizing how much until today.
The cab turned a corner, and began to head towards the more middle class section of the city.
Sung started to keep more of a watch out the window as the more working-class part of town came into view. Sung remember his days in the slums and did not want anyone living like that. The middle class was better than that. These people had reasonable paying jobs and could afford food most of the time. Sung was quiet now he seem to be listening and observing out the window intently as they got deeper into the city.
The middle class area was fairly nice, as one would expect. The houses were a decent size but not large. Most had a small front yard, with a larger back yard. Many middle class could afford a maid. They were the newest class, coming from the increase in technology and jobs from that, but their numbers were growing.
The difference between the middle class section and the working section, was practically night and day. They people here tended to live in far more run down shacks, often small. These were the people that worked physically hard, miners, dock workers and the like lived here. Beyond here would be the area for those who weren't even fortunate enough to be working class. They wouldn't be going that far, as Clement's family was in the working class section. The cab pulled up, to a little shack. It's exterior was worn down wood, with pieces of it sticking out in various places. There was a small cracked window in the front of the house. The cab driver helped Elizabeth out if the cab and looked around, clearly he didn't understand what someone of Elizabeth's status was doing here.
Sung stepped out as well. He had seen better and worse places. It was better off than he thought. They lived with the mother not working and not having a father they were well, ok guest Sung He gave a quick look around Elizabeth and Sung were getting looks from the neighbors and others on the street walking. He looked at the carriage driver. "Wait here for our return," said Sung to the driver. Handing him some extra coin. " When you are ready My Lady," commented Sung he seem to be watching all the movement close to them.
Sung looked for anyone that seemed out of place as he looked at people their reactions and body language. Elizabeth knew he was looking for any danger no matter how small.
Elizabeth knew what Sung was looking for, she herself spotted nothing. She knocked on the door.
Inside the sound of murmured voices and then the door slowly creaked open. Standing behind it was a small child, six years old. Her blonde hair held such tight spiral curls, thar it looked as if it had been set, even though it had never seen curlers. Her brown eyes looked up, then widened as a huge smile crossed her lips.
