JP- Redsword and Cindy
The quiet that suddenly came offer the dining room and kitchen when Elizabeth walked into the area wasn't exactly unnoticed by the Eldren, but she was quite used to it. 20 years old and it had always been this way. As a child, things were a little different but she also had a nanny which was in charge of her and the servants could give her some direction, mostly in a manner of keeping the young Eldren safe. It was different now, Elizabeth was an adult - a young adult perhaps, especially for a race that lived hundreds of years but still considered right on that crossover line.
"Good day, everyone." Elizabeth's voice was pleasant. "Greta, something smells amazing." The greeting was met with a chorus of, "Good day, Miss." And a "Danke, Miss Elizabeth." From Greta. She gave a smile to the older man before her. Sung had been with her family for a long time. He had been her teacher for almost as long. A six-year-old tantrum and a blown-up table might have had expedited that process. He was a well-trusted advisor, as well as her chaperone and other such titles. She certainly saw him as a member of the family. An adopted uncle, if one will. "Mr. Sung, yes. If you could come with me to the parlor, I believe we need to discuss the telegram from my father that just arrived."
"Yes my Lady," his reply was polite and with a small bow. He motioned towards the parlor with his hand. "After you, my Lady" Sung would follow her into the parlor. Sung smiled and then motioned for her to sit in a chair by the window after she sat Sung sat in the chair across the little table between them. "What news do you have from your Father?" asked Sung.
This Parlor room was a visual display of your wealth and status, it went without saying that it was also the most cluttered room both in terms of furniture and ornaments, as well as colors and patterns This room has been decorated in rich colors – burgundy, gold, blue, and dark green.
Elizabeth asked to make sure the doors were closed, then took her seat. "My father said that getting the good doctor to join is in the works. He wants us to acquire the engineer - scientist, Lorem. I am not really sure of her title." The young Eldren sighed ever so slightly. "So, how do I convince a German Gnome to join a random group, that she has likely never heard of before, to help us in the kind of missions we will be partaking in?"
Elizabeth was, after all, new to leading anything like this. Maybe some school clubs certainly but this was far more than that.
Shun shi thought "Scientists like one thing above all research. Then published their research witch the German Gnome get full credit. We offer that to get her interest. and it will not hurt your family's reputation to be a part of that. After we talk a bit maybe we will find out more things about the German Gnome." suggested Mr. Shun Shi. He had never really dealt with Scientists before one-on-one but this comes from what he read over the years.
Elizabeth nodded; "That might work." And in true British fashion. "Perhaps I should invite her to tea, to discuss it."
It did seem like, at least this part, of assembling the group was coming together. The eldren could only hope it all went well. "I suppose the Doctor might be an issue as well, though the pardon should help."
Sung glanced out the window "We have the pardon is that enough I hope? "We can do nothing for the others right now. let us look at Lorem. Do you think if we invited Lorem would she come? " Asked Sung "I don't even know if she accepts an invite," Sung added. How far is Lorem from us? Is she able to travel to us?" Sung asks the questions more to make him think about Lorem.
"Lorem is at the Exposition. She's working with the group that's in charge of the air machine that does flying tours from the Eiffel Tower." Elizabeth answered the last question first. "Currently close but we need to get her soon. My father wants us on the first mission as soon as possible." Usually sure of herself Elizabeth was a bit more tentative at the moment. "I'm unsure if Lorem will accept an invitation as well. I am more siding with inviting her to tea, that's much less of a decision upon first meeting us." Elizabeth then addressed the question of the pardon. "My father said the Doctor has not been on the run long. I would think, a man like that, would not want to stay on the run."
The young Eldren got up from her seat, it was not uncommon for her to move around when thinking or concerned. Her words speaking of the latter. "I hope this all comes together. I know my father will not lay the blame on me if it does not, but I do not want him to look bad in the eyes of The Order."
Sung stayed quiet for a moment letting Elizabeth think. "when should we invite Lorem? do you think tonight is too early? we could do some before dinner and if we need more time maybe a free meal? I know I would never down a free meal." said Sung with a sly grin and it would give our chef something to work on. " He was quiet again. "what do Gnomes eat never had to cook for one in all the years there is not a lot of them are there?" thinking on the Gnomes. " For father, I am known him for some time he has a backup plan I am sure. We will not let him down even if I have to talk them to death." Sung said with a laugh.
"Well, it's still early enough in the day." Based on the tall clock with noticeable clockwork and chimes, takes up the center of one of the walls. The tenth hour of the morning was about to be chimed in.
The Exposition was not that far from the upper-class residential section in which Elizabeth's home resided in. Just far enough to keep the mass of people out of the area. It was, technically, within walking distance but everyone with the means took carriages.
"Tea time can be at 3:30, that would give Lorem plenty of time to get ready prior to arriving." The sigh this time was inaudible but there just the same. "If she agrees to come."
The question about what Gnomes ate, puzzled Elizabeth for a moment. Not the question itself but that Sung didn't know. "Gnomes eat what everyone else eats. Well, except for orcs I have no idea what they eat and am not sure I care to know. And I doubt Lorem will eat only fish and kelp like the Araunda. Maybe, some British and some German food would be a nice variety. Could certainly have an assortment of French Pastries delivered, as well." Elizabeth's voice had grown more sure. She now had a plan, which made the Eldren feel better. As for her father, a smile crossed her face. "You are most likely correct. Father does always seem to have a backup plan."
Sung felt like the plan was a good one and would produce something toward their goal. "Then we have the plan, My Lady. Would you like me to inform the staff that we have a guest arriving and your expectations?" asked Sung getting up from his chair with a small bow. Sung saw Elisabeth smile and knew what he had to do. "Yes, My Lady.
