As Alexis left Tarmen to his now blooming thoughts, she was almost immediately replaced in his focus by a newcomer.
He had seen him briefly, conversing with many that had later been removed. The fact he was still here meant he had potential, but he had seen little of this.
Usually he would have told this stripling to go kiss Cambena, but the offer of salt was a smart move. Not revealing his name just yet, he grabbed some for himself with a grunt of acceptance.
The boys comment, however, couldn’t be left alone. He was also surprised that he could agree with Alexis’s response, which made him more willing to voice his thoughts.
“She’s right. Beasts can be reasoned with too, don’t mean the natives will treat you any better.”
With the bribe of salt, he opened a small amount of leeway for Jiyn. He would have to see what the boy could do.
