For Those I Lost

Written by Lorem

It was late now and soon Gonyaul would be escorted back to his hut, a nice enough prison cell. He could see them coming down the pier that was reaching out into the ocean beside the Surathi village to retrieve him. Gonyaul had an interesting day. He was introduced to a disorder that cringed at their meeting, or perhaps that was too strong a judgement. Perhaps it complied in respect?

Regardless Gonyaul had taken his seat alone, though under yonder supervision, at the end of the pier in order to think on his feelings, which inevitably stole him away from the bizarre events of the day and placed his focus on his friends and family currently lost to him. It led him to song.

(In vauxian)
”On the shores where echoes fade,
In the light where shadows played,
I sit alone, the waves my guide,
Yet the tides turn, the stars confide.
Oh, whispers of the deep,
Carry names that we must keep,
But now the world shifts in its sleep,
As if it knows the pain I keep.

I’ve walked with storms that do not break,
And felt the earth refuse to shake,
Yet here I am, and still I find,
The world bends to this heart of mine.
Oh, winds that once did roam,
Guide me back to where they’ve gone,
My friends, my kin, so far, yet drawn,
To the pull of night, to the coming dawn.

In the sea's embrace, I hear your call,
Where chaos bows, and night does fall.

Is it fate that ties the thread,
Or the fear of what’s unsaid?
In the silence, I am led,
By memories of the fallen dead.
Oh, great Sea, your waves obey,
Yet in your depths, the shadows play,
Do they follow, or betray,
As I search for them night and day?

As the ocean churns with thought,
I’m bound by what this order brought,
But my heart, in every knot,
Holds the love that time forgot.
Oh, the world, the sea, the shore,
May they lead me to your door,
Until then, I’ll sing once more,
For those I lost, forevermore.”
