Is this really worth the trouble

Alexis casually moved closer to the ‘business discussion’ as it turned out, keeping at the back of the three enforcers.

While she took her sweet time, more and more people joined the fun.
With any luck, she didn’t even have to get involved, which would be preferable.

She made a face when the lordling tried to entice the people he had in debt to fight on his behalf.

‘Jeez, I wonder what equation they’ll prefer - cut off a nebulous amount of my debt at risk of being stabbed or let the creditor be killed, after which my debt will equal zero.’

She thought, rolling her eyes.

The scene the religious(?) woman caused when yet another raggedly looking man appeared, apparently carrying something of hers was a good enough excuse to linger just behind one of the thugs, pretending to be bewildered by the happenings.

Just in arms reach, so that, should this turn violent in the end, this one would start off with a shield to the face.

She would really, really prefer if it didn’t, though. This was, after all, only her first evening here.
