Islana and Ch’Truta - Part 8
Jp with mdman and Cindy
"I'm still not sure how it will be taken by them, but we can manage." Islana bit her lip. "And you have given me hope." Hope for a future, not as alone as she often felt at times.
The second kiss was longer, deeper and she wanted to stay in that moment forever but of course they couldn't. Eventually, she would have to go back to her duties as Sister Locust.
He cared how the sisters and followers would take the budding relationship. Then again, as of this moment, it was he and Islana. Those other voices seemed rather distant.
Was it fate that brought Ch’Truta and Islana together. Two people, alone, from far reaches of the world, finding each other here, in Arcadia?
There was that word again: fate. It was a word that continued to nag at the back of Ch’Truta’s mind. Why?
The only question at the moment was what happens next? Should they hide their feelings in public? Should they announce them to the horde?
After the second kiss, Ch’Truta whispered, “How should we proceed?”
Islana was internally having similar questions. It seemed as if there were hands involved in her and Ch'Truta finding each other. Fate? The Twins - actually Islana doubted the Gods concerned themselves with such matters usually but she was their Prophetess. Whatever it was, it didn't feel random.
How should they proceed? Islana took a deep breath, as much as she wanted to be able to announce it to the Horde. There was little that would be more of an issue. "I can't tell people. Not yet. Not while we're headed to war. I need the Horde to not question me any more than some do. If they distrust me it could ruin everything. " It really wasn't the way she wanted things but her life was not fully her own. "After the war, when things are settled more, we should be able to be more open." Could he wait that long, could she?
Ch’Truta rested his forehead against hers. He was appreciative of this time. Hopefully, there would be others when he could be alone with her.
“I understand,” Ch’Truta quietly replied. His arm came from around her waist and he gently caressed Islana’s face. “I will cherish the times we can be alone.”
He shifted his weight back to M’hana. His smile displayed how he felt. These were strange feelings to Ch’Rruta. Strange, but welcome.
Islana returned his smile with a soft one of her own. "I will as well." She would definitely cherish those times but had a sinking feeling there would not be much time for moments like this until after the war. "As much as I have loved spending this time with you I have to get back as there is a lot to do before tomorrow.”
Islana nodded, "Alright, just stay safe yourself." She really didn't want a repeat of the previous night.
She rode the Skelep back, keeping along side Ch’Truta. Barely making it back to the corral before noticing her advisors were waiting on her. The young leader signaled to them she would just be a moment. Got off the Skelep and waited for Ch’Truta to be ready. When he was on the ground, they quickly took care of M'hana and the Skelep together. Letting the Skelep go to rest, back in his spot near Islana's tent.
Kaithak landed on her arm, and made his way to her shoulder.
She smiled at Ch’Truta. It was time to get to work.
