Islana and Ch’Truta - Part 7
Jp with mdman and Cindy
He momentarily gazed into eyes as if looking into an emerald sea. Then he took a deep breath for courage. He had never met a woman quite like her.
“In the corral,” Ch’Truta solemnly began, “I came close to expressing my devotion to you.”
He looked unwavering. He needed to know if what he had seen in her eyes at that moment was truth.
No, further explanation was needed from him, she knew what he meant. Islana had felt it as well.
A lump formed in her throat and...
Nothing, she felt nothing towards the man that had shared her bed. Her dark hair surrounding her head on a pillow made of the finest feathers.
Sister Locust had met him recently, leader of the Saton Sept. A man a good forty seasons her senior, physically anyway.
The Sister had wanted to experience it, a man's touch in that intimate of ways. In all her seasons she had yet to experience that. So it had occurred, as the Sister wanted it to. With someone she probably would not see again for a long time.
This was not disallowed by the Twins. Actually, in this case it might have been their will. Just remain unattached.
..... Islana blinked her eyes a few times. How long had she been gone that time? The young woman rubbed her temple and glanced back at the man. "I am sorry. I have no control over them or their memories." That had been awful timing. "I felt it too, waiting to express it more but - well - are you certain you want to deal with everything that comes with that. Do you want to have to handle them?" Meaning the other Sisters.
Ch’Truta grinned. She was being vulnerable with him again, just as he was with her. He never would have dreamed one in power demonstrating such vulnerability. It cause Ch’Truta to love her more.
There was only one thing left to do. He leaned across directly in front of her. His arm gently wrapped about her slim waist. Ch’Truta then kissed Islana.
Backing away from the kiss, but still embracing her with one arm, he confessed, “I have wanted to do that since before I investigated Silina.”
The kiss was gentle and warm, and there was no resistance from Islana. When Ch'Truta backed away from the kiss, she smiled at him. That had been easier than she thought it would be. A little scary but also wonderful.
"I'm glad you didn't wait any longer." The future held so much unknown that now seemed to be the best option.
It was Islana’s first kiss, the first time her feelings were like this. Even if she had notions of such things in the past nothing had ever gotten to here.
Ch’Truta had never felt like this. There was love, joy, happiness, and hope, all positive emotions like the waves of the sea within him. His heartbeat picked up in pace. Warmth spread out from the center of his being to the extremities. He actually felt alive.
Ch’Truta smiled. “I wasn’t sure how it would be taken by the sisters. Nor your following. But know this Islana: you have truly given me life.”
He leaned over for a second kiss. This one caused his heart to pound as if coming out of his chest. That was the only way to explain it; she was his life.
