Escape hatch

Malacost swing his blade at the closest enemy in the dark, positioning himself to the left side of the woman that had come to his rescue, keeping two of their attackers occupied. He kept looking at hatch nearby, pondering if he should make a run for it and leave the woman to her fate, but quickly put those thoughts behind him. He could still use her presence.

Two warriors rushed him, and he parried desperately their downward swings, sending a riposte across one of the men's faces, slicing flesh and bone with the edge of his sword. The man stumbled back clutching his ruined face. The move left him open to another lunge from the dark robe on the right and he but down his tongue as he felt the tip of the man's sword skewer his tight. He pushed the man in the face with the hilt of his sword, breaking his nose, sending him back.

At his side the woman had killed one of the attackers with a mighty swing of her broadsword that caved his chest, and keeping the attacker at bay with her dual wielding.

Suddenly a shout came from the entrance and he saw something slowly spin through the air, slowly missing the top of the heads of their attackers, who pulled back with weapons raised. He saw a small clay jug crack on the floor in front of them and a liquid spew across the warehouse's floor.

The smell of something rotten and woody filled the air. Malacost turned to Alexis just in time to see a torch being throw in the direction.

A great woosh was heard as the oil caught ignited spreading in all directions, putting a wall of fire between Malacost and Alexis and their attackers.
