JP with Omni and Lorem
Voah volleyed back Gonyaul’s deluge of fears with her own. The two of them a wretched mess of nerves, insecurities and concerns that had been silently growing under the surface.
Gonyaul was thankful that these things were finally getting brought out into the open. Shame could not survive open communication met with empathy. Lies could not continue when the light of truth was shined upon them. Problems couldn’t escalate when made available to solve.
Gonyaul smiled graciously. Then chuckled lightly accompanied by an apologetic raise of his hand, he didn’t mean to make light of any of this. “We are a mess.” He admitted, taking ownership of his shortcoming and mistakes. He looked at her with admiration still twinkling in his eyes.
She couldn’t contain her own chuckle in response but she couldn’t agree. She was the mess and she envied him for his views of peace, delusions or no, but she could never be so perfect, her innocence long lost.
“Gonyaul, I did what you said. I measured the cost.”
She walked over to the corner of the hovel and retrieved the Skara egg from a bucket of wet sand in which she had kept it for the last few days.
“Thank you.” He appreciated that she accepted his advice and acted upon it.
When she returned with the egg he perked up even more. He had seen it when she first came home, but since then it had remained a mystery. His curiosity was bursting at the seams to hear its story. He had never seen an egg like that before and was hoping now would be the time she shared the juicy details.
