What? What? What?
JP with Omni and Lorem:
Voah could tell that Gonyaul, though happy to see her, was looking especially displeased, tired and possibly disappointed. Before he could say too much she spoke first.
"I believe the two of you have already met?"
Gonyaul couldn’t believe it. Voah, and guest, were at their campsite. He had walked everywhere the city would permit his feet to go and low and behold ended up finding her where he started. From the looks of things they had not arrived much sooner than he came dragging up on the scene.
After being ushered in, he let his staff fall to the ground, giving no heed to the guest yet while focused on her. Both arms opened wide, like the unhinged jaws of a boa constrictor, and he took Voah into his arms. He smiled in relief and his eyes were wet with celebration as one finding a lost treasure.
Gonyaul instantly let go though as he sensed her tense from the injury she sustained in the fights. Backing away he noticed her wounds now. This caused him to look at the guest directly, he was shocked to see a familiar face. Quickly recovering, remembering his manners, he bowed in respect to Malacost and signed a formal greeting.
“Yes, nice see again Alvuin”. Yes, he mispronounced Alcuin; however, in his defense he had only known the man for a brief time and that felt like ages ago. It was not lost on him that the man was likewise injured. He excused himself from focus on Alcuin politely, his mannerism basically saying that he had something important to discuss with Voah real quick.
Gonyaul than turned back to Voah, obviously displeased. With gesticulation directed at her, Alcuin, their camp, and the entire city at large he questioned her in exasperation. He was so worked up inside his head he jumbled all the languages he knew and was only able to get out,
“What? What? What?”
Three words used as placeholders for questions she obviously could deduce on her own. Such as the following: where have you been? What happened to you? Why is Alcuin here? What is going on? You couldn’t leave a note saying where you went off to? And any others left to Voah’s imagination.
It was clear that he had been worried and had gone out looking for her again. She was her own woman, but she ought to have learned her lesson by now that going off on her own without a word for too long would have this kind of response from people who actually cared for her.
“I know. I KNOW. I know.” she said ruefully, putting her palms in the air for a moment and speaking softly to alleviate the stress of the situation.
Blood ran down her arm from the laceration left behind by the Hound.
“I’m sorry, yai Bu’jah. It was not my intent to be gone for so long. By some unexpected happenstance, I encountered Mr Alcuin here.”
She gestured to the man.
