Morning Is Relative

CSCSS Nomad > A Deck > Cryo
Joint post with Redsword, Liltroll2, Omni

Warrant Officer Russ Garrett (aka Dusty) moved from each Cryo pod making sure everyone was coming around and recovering with no problems handing everyone one hydro-pack per person. That was a request from Garrett when he signed on. That each crew member (organic, that is) received one. Not all companies supplied them; not without some crazy cost attached to it. But that was a must for Garrett. He did not need the crew cutting corners on a mission. He knew everyone had to be 100% when things got moving.

Garrett was out of his cryo pod 24 hrs earlier setting up to make sure he was ready for anything that might go wrong. her speech was a bit different, but he would deal with that later and her personality too. Shit happens in space and Garrett knew that.

Rita let out a groan as she slowly sat up. Looking up at Garrett, the woman rubbed her head.

"Thanks.." Rita said when she is handed the pack of Hydr8tion. "How are we doing? Where are we?"

"Astryllis 179 star system. A few days out from our first stop, so I have been told." replied Garrett. "Having any unusual problems?" he asked with a friendly smile."

Rita shook her head as she started in on the Hydropack. "No... I am doing well." She said and stretched. Her body twisted and moved testing out her body.

"Seema to be in working order...."

"Good let me know if there are any problems," commented Garrett as he moved around to the others.

As the cryopod's lid hissed open, releasing a cloud of cool vapor into the air, Captain Yoshida’s eyes, though heavy with the remnants of cryosleep, flickered open with a sharpness that concealed his disorientation, instantly scanning his surroundings with the inherent authority that came with his command. He raised himself up on his elbows, pausing for a moment to let the wave of dizziness pass, a small price for faster-than-light travel.

Hearing the strange wake-up call from SA-Miii, he muttered to himself. ‘That’s... different…’

Then with a deep, steadying breath, he swung his legs over the edge of the pod, his feet finding the cold floor deck. He stood, stretching his limbs to shake off the stiffness. It was time to see what Astryllis 179 had in store.

“Morning, you two." It was instinctual to say when one woke up, but he supposed morning was relative on a star ship. "Well… you know what I mean,” he chuckled.

Looking over everyone one by one, Garrett handed out the hydro packs. Things were looking good with the crew, but the first 24 hours would be the test of any side effects of the Cryo pods. Garrett walked with a smile on his face, happy with the results so far on this mission they were on.

Sure there were those he did not trust, but for now he would let those feelings go.
