Escape? (Pt 4)
“What did he tell you?” Riley asked in a confused tone.
Tzeitel touched her powers. She would use them in an instance if Shiro or Nero made any wrong moves.
“Not much…just that you’re a speedster and your name.” Shiro said, keeping space between himself and Tzeitel.
Nero could sense the touch to her powers and growled at Tzeitel. Loreen would quickly touch his arm and look toward Tzeitel. “Don’t threaten my nephew, please.” She warned.
“Let's try to focus,” Riley said, trying to calm everyone down. “Loreen, is there anyone else that needs to be busted out?”
“Evie…but we can’t reach her without Thrane.” Loreen explained.
“Indeed, you cannot.” Thrane’s voice was cold and firm as he seemed to appear behind them all, standing just outside the elevator.
Shiro quickly moved between everyone and Thrane. “Go, I’ll keep him busy!” He yelled.
Nero already had Loreen and Riley up in his arms, pulling them away from the group. Slither wrapped around one of his arms and hissed toward Thrane as she was carried away.
Nine quickly picked up Tzeitel like a bride and rushed after Nero, Cook close behind.
Yule and Haven would most likely still be waiting outside just as a jet started to arrive. Pink ears perked up as the feline woman lifted from her protective armor to gaze at it. “Who is that?” She asked aloud.
“Can you two remove Loreen’s chip” Riley asked in a hurry.
Tzeitel squirmed uncomfortably, not liking being carried, but she knew she could not outrun Thrane in her condition.
“Uh, I might kill her by accident.” Haven said.
Tzeitel would get a glimpse of Shiro using his power in an attempt to slow down Thrane before they exited the building. A sickening sharp toothed smirk was on Thrane’s face…
Yule slipped out of her armor and let Nero use it to form a wall against the wind coming down toward them. “Yeah, what if we kill her? Isn’t she, you know, human?” She asked in a soft tone.
“I’m not human…” Loreen admitted. “What’s with the jet coming down to us all?”
Nine, with Cook’s help, set Tzeitel down on her feet outside. With her safely in the soldier’s arms, he went to the doorway and started dragging things over to block it.
Anything to keep Thrane busy.
“Have you had any other serious injuries since getting the chip implanted?” Haven asked Loreen.
Tzeitel shaded her eyes and looked up at the jet. Help?
“No,” Loreen told Haven as she got down and stood by the red head.
Nero dropped Riley to the snow like a doll.
“MegaCorp model but it's an older one” Riley said staring at it “me and Klaire tried to steal one once.”
Haven touched Loreen’s neck, reaching for the chip.
Tzeitel’s heart sped up as she saw that the jet was coming towards them.
Loreen gritted her teeth and ignored the pain in silence as Yule waited and dug the chip out with her claws. “Okay, let go, Haven.” She said to help her new friend.
Slither would slide off of Nero’s head and plop down onto Loreen, instantly healing her.
“Is that a delivery or…?” Cook kept Tzeitel close, his gun out again. “If they try to stop us, I’ll do what I can.”
Haven was all too happy to stop touching Loreen, dropping her hand and stepping back.
“I’m not going back in there if they try to stop us.” Tzeitel said, looking at Cook’s gun. “Don’t let them.”
Slither lifted her head and gave Haven a little snake smile to let her know she was happy for her help in getting the chip out of Loreen. The woman in question sighed in relief until she realized what was on her. Freezing in place, face stricken with horror, she let out a long horrified squeak. “Get it off me…” She squeaked out.
Cook and everyone else just stared at Loreen as if she was insane. Was this strong as nails woman seriously afraid of snakes?
Riley gently took Slither off of her before checking over Loreen “Are you ok? How are you feeling?”
Haven moved aside from the group, quietly recovering from so much physical contact today.
“I’m fine.” Loreen said, looking up toward the jet.
Yule followed Haven. “Are you okay?” She asked softly.
Haven shrugged. “Touching people never feels right.” She whispered.
“I wish I knew how to help.” Yule replied before the loud engines of the jet became too loud to hear over.
Haven looked up at the jet, hoping that they were friendly.
