Escape? (Pt 3)

Shiro got the elevator set up for them, making sure he never went out of sight since Cook was keeping an eye on him. “We’re at the North Pole, so it’s very cold out there.” He explained to them. “I’m fine because of my…power.” He almost sounded disgusted when he mentioned it.

Tzeitel quietly thanked Nine, wrapping the blanket around herself. “Isn’t it all water and ice at the North Pole?” Tzeitel asked.

“Snow and water and ice…” Shiro grumbled.

Cook looked at Shiro. “Just get us out.” He said. “Where is Thrane anyway?”

“Dealing with…things.” Shiro shuddered.

Tzeitel looked at Shiro, wondering if killing him and cutting off his hands would work.

Shiro stared at Tzeitel. “Please stop staring at me. I’m not Thrane.” He said and started the elevator once everyone was inside.

“You’re a clone, that’s close enough.” Tzeitel leaned on the elevator wall. The babies were cartwheeling around.

“Doesn’t mean I’m him.” Shiro snapped, obviously having more emotions than Thrane.

Nine and Cook looked between Tzeitel and Shiro. This was going to be a long elevator ride…

“Don’t fucking try anything.” Tzeitel snapped back.

“I’m not going to.” Shiro sighed heavily and crossed his arms, staring at the numbers.

“I’ll make you die in agony if you do.” Tzeitel had spent the past year unable to control or defend her own body, she was feeling like if she did not come across as strong now things would be done to her again down the road.

“I told you already…” Shiro sighed and stepped off the elevator, freezing the moment they ran into Riley, Loreen and Nero.

Nine stared at Nero and instantly hid behind Tzeitel like a frightened puppy.

“I thought you’d have swam to Canada or something by now, Nero.” Cook said, staring at the trio.

“I wouldn't leave without Tzeitel. I made a promise to Colt a long time ago” Riley replied.

“I didn’t say you, Riley.” Cook retorted.

Shiro stared at Riley and tilted his head to the side for a moment. “You’re the one Thrane told me about a lot…”
