That (not) Tinder Date
Kiana looked at Skorn. “What the hell are you doing here?”
Skorn stared at her. “What are you doing here?” He said and looked at his phone. He showed her the tinder conversation they’d had. “This you?!”
“Did you steal his phone?” Kiana demanded.
“Fuck no!” Skorn retorted. “This is my phone!” He showed her the back so she’d remember that he’d been using this whole time. “Oh, fuck…” He sighed heavily. “I’ll just buy you that drink I promised and let you go if ya want.”
“Oh, shit.” Kiana paled, realizing that she had been talking to someone she knew in real life. She sat down hard on a bar stool.
Skorn raised an eyebrow and sighed to calm himself. “Look, I figure you don’t want this and that’s fine. I didn’t expect much from this but a fun time. We can keep it that way if you want, Kiana.” He explained as he waved over the bartender. “What do you want to drink?”
“Something strong.” Kiana said, thinking over their chat history. “The whole time?”
“I didn’t realize it was you.” Skorn said as he got her the strongest thing they had. He ordered it for himself too.
“I didn’t either. Shit.” Kiana downed her drink in one sip. “You need to wash your mouth out with soap!”
“Why is that?” Skorn asked as he downed his own drink in one gulp and ordered another for them both. He slid money to the bartender and drank his second drink just as fast. “I didn’t see any complaints in the chat we were having on here.” He waved his phone at her.
“That was when you were in my phone.” Kiana scowled. “Just one of the phone guys.”
Skorn shook his head and slid her new drink to her. “And us knowing each other changes that so easily?” He asked.
“Uh, yeah.” Kiana said. “It’s not a one night stand if the guy meets any family members.” It was so obvious.
Skorn chuckled and stretched. “Then what is this?” He asked as he got another drink. “You’re not the type to date…right?”
“One night stands are less complicated..” Kiana said. “Take less time.”
“Yeah, but a relationship can be good, too.” Skorn explained as he downed his third drink and sighed. Alcohol never bothered him and barely ever got him even buzzed.
“I don’t want to fuck someone I’m in a relationship with though.” Kiana said, quite buzzed already.
“Then let's get you back home and end this already.” Skorn said as he paid for the last of their drinks. He’d walk Kiana home.
“Okay.” Kiana said, if she was less drunk she’d open the app and try to find someone else.
Skorn felt like he’d been slapped, rolled his eyes, and helped her out the door. He glared at the men that kept looking at Kiana as if she were a cheap piece of meat as he got her home.
At the front door, he knocked.
“Why’re you knocking? I haff the key.” Kiana slurred, spilling an impossible number of tampons from her purse as she searched it for her key.
Skorn let her look and grabbed up all the tampons for her, unbothered.
Kiana found her keys, then looked up at Skorn. “What the fuck do you need so many tampons for?”
Skorn put them back into her purse for her. “They’re yours.” He said calmly and took the keys, unlocking the door for her. “Let's get you into your home, missy.” He gently coaxed her through the doorway.
“Wow, I must bleed a lot.” Kiana stumbled through the door and looked at her brother still standing where she left him staring at his phone.
Skorn followed and closed the door, locking it for her. “Come on, let him be.” He said and tried to steer her toward the couch. Maybe she would lie there and fall asleep.
Kiana faceplanted on the couch. She started snoring.
Skorn chuckled and moved her enough that she would be capable of breathing. Draping a blanket over her, he waved at Sorley and left, sure the water user would lock the door.
Kiana slept and Sorley was too distracted by his phone and talking to Gelf to lock the door.
The bird would, shockingly rush out the door and stop Skorn, attacking him until he was back inside. “The hell, bird?” He whispered as it returned to Sorley’s head. “Fine…” He locked the door and sat down in front of the couch. Leaning back, he would shove his hands into his jacket pockets and try to sleep.
Kiana snored on.
Snoring never bothered Skorn, so he was able to fall asleep with his head lying on the couch near hers.
Upon seeing this, the bird would somehow steal Kiana’s phone and take pictures of them.
The filter on Kiana’s phone put a flower crown over Skorn’s head.
The bird would try to change the flower crown to Kiana’s head, but eventually just threw it at the red head when she couldn’t get it to do what she wanted.
Kiana woke up. “What the fuck?!”
