Not A Haven (Pt. 3)
Haven hugged herself, making herself even smaller. She hated being touched and the judgements about her weight did not make her feel more confident. She could not help how little she was fed. “Will it at least be quick?” Haven asked in a small voice.
The scientist ignored Haven’s questions, tapping a few things on a tablet. “Send her in.” She said coldly and headed back toward a desk as a guard walked her to a door that slid open to the left. The guard shoved her roughly into the room and stepped back as the door slid closed.
There would be a long moment of silence and darkness before another door across from the one Haven had entered through would open. She would be greeted by a dimly lit room with an oversized claw-foot bathtub in the center of the room. There would be a pair of feet propped up at one end as a clawed hand raised up to grab the side.
The room itself was a dull gray and there were dark spots, obviously old blood stains that no one could clean because of the room’s occupant.
Haven would also feel her collar cut off so she could use her powers.
“Don’t touch me.” Haven hunched her shoulders. She could feel her power return. “I can't control my powers. If you touch me I'll hurt you.”
Getting out of the tub, Nero’s bare feet touched the floor as he turned those deep blue eyes on Haven and tilted his head to the side. It almost resembled a puppy, if not for his size and the fact his power could kill anything if it weren’t being thwarted by Thrane. “Food…” He grunted and started toward the poor red haired woman.
He only stopped when another door opened, Yule walking into the room. “L-l-leave her alone…” She stuttered.
Haven curled into a ball on the floor, shaking uncontrollably and crying. All she could see was that Amihan rapist on top of her, blood streaming from all the scars she had unhealed on his chest, neck and face- he barely had any face. “No.” Haven whispered. “Don’t touch me. I don’t want it.”
Nero tilted his head at Yule and looked back at Haven for a moment before an odd grin formed on his face. “Wanna play?” He asked them.
Haven was spared from seeing the grin, only because she was deep in the flashback. All she could do was shake and cry.
“Haven…” Yule said and turned her eyes on Nero. “S…Stay away from her! Please!” Her voice was harder, more confident, but still full of fear.
Nero grunted and frowned. “Food.” He said, his stomach groaning with hunger.
“We don’t have food.” She replied.
“Where?” He growled.
“I…I don’t know.” She glanced toward the doors and Nero got the hint almost instantly. He turned to Haven and went to her, grabbing onto one of her arms. Despite her power being able to cause harm to people, it was as if he didn’t even notice. The moment old scratches and injuries formed on him, they healed just as fast. The process caused steam to rise off him as he shoved her toward Yule and banged his entire body into the door.
“Haven, are you okay?” Yule called as she rushed over to the red head and leaned over her. She dared not to touch her, knowing what could happen.
Nero grabbing Haven’s arm was enough to shock her from the flashback, but she was still shaking from fear. She looked up at Yule with eyes full of fear. “None of us are okay.” She shakily stood up and watched Nero. “Is he not going to kill us?”
“I don’t think he wants to…” Yule said as Nero banged into the door again. It was denting under his strength, but she saw when they activated the chip in the back of his neck. He growled and snarled in pain, clawing at the back of his neck as he twisted to face the girls.
“Out…get…it…out!” He choked out the words to them.
“I think he w-w-wants your help, Haven…” Yule said, looking at how he kept clawing at the back of his neck. It just kept healing too fast for him to reach his target.
