Nilima Has A Lot To Learn (Pt 2)

“I told you I didn’t need medical help and you carried me in here! Just leave me alone!” Nilima said, but started to let up on her powers.

“It’s just a small check up. Everyone has to get one.” Skorn told her and tossed off his jacket, walking to a nurse. “Just watch, okay? They don’t hurt us here!” Sitting in a chair, he let the nurse do the check up - taking his temperature, blood pressure and checking his pulse. He wanted her to understand she wasn’t going to be harmed.

“Like that means anything, you’re a guy!” Nilima protested.

Skorn gave an annoyed noise and called a girl in from the hall. It was Yule, having finally been brave enough to explore so long as she was with Haven. She instinctively grabbed Haven’t sleeve and pulled her in. “Can you let them do a check up on you?” He asked.

“Uh…why?” Yule asked, giving Skorn a confused look. She knew he wouldn’t harm them, but it was such an odd request. It clicked in her brain when he gestured to Nilima. “Oh, sure. It’s time for my weekly check-up anyway.” When they’d arrived, she’d had a lot of damage down there, so she’d required some surgeries.

Going to a chair, she sat down and let them do a check-up.

Skorn grabbed up his jacket and pulled it on. “Sorry for stealing your girlfriend for a bit, Haven.”

Haven did not bother correcting Skorn, she figured if everyone thought she was a lesbian she would not have to worry about any men trying to start a relationship with her and having to turn them down.

Nilima still did not want a checkup or anything to do with the medical ward, but how casually Skorn referred to Yule as another woman’s ‘girlfriend’ made her pause. She looked at Haven and Yule, she did not think they were that kind of a couple, just like really close friends. This was not something that was ever joked about in Amihan. Nilima had experienced herself what happened to women who liked other women too much. “I don’t need a check up…”

“They can let you do it yourself like Haven does,” Yule suggested.

“Hey, that’s an awesome idea!” Skorn grinned and gave Yule a thumbs up. “Wanna walk her through it, Haven? Since you do it all the time for yourself now?” Considering her power, the doctors were always worried about what it did to her body, so the doctors and nurses had taught Haven how to take her own vitals.

“Sure.” Haven said. She thought it could not be more obvious that this girl had been raped. She picked up a blood pressure cuff, “See this dot? When you put it on your arm you line it up with this vein here.” Haven explained.

Nilima picked up a blood pressure cuff, still not convinced that she was not going to get molested here. What if they found something wrong? Or claimed to find something wrong? She followed Haven’s instructions.

“You just relay the results to the nurse.” Skorn told her, gesturing to the nurse with a clipboard.

Yule was done now and walked over to watch out of curiosity. She loved how Haven was always so helpful, even if she didn’t touch anyone.

Haven walked Nilima through the process. When Nilima was done she looked at the door. “Can I go now?”

“We can show you to the women’s ward so you don’t have to be around men,” Yule offered. “Or would you like something to eat? You’re new so we can go to Delilah and get a room assigned to you. Everyone is welcome to live here.”

It was safe here, after all.

Skorn pulled out a cigarette and got bitched at by a nurse. “I’m not gonna smoke it in here! Calm down.” He was shooed out of the medical ward and waited outside for the girls.
