Character Information

Lisara Sunworn’s people had some of the most advanced tech available. The planet’s location was a closely guarded secret. Only a select few knew how to get there and they dedicated themselves to taking that secret to the grave, they were not allowed off the planet until one of their teeth was replaced by a fake full of fast acting poison. They lived in harmony with the planet, taking great care not to mess it up. If found guilty of polluting the planet the criminal was executed on the spot, there was no appeals process. One day when Lisara was twelve the planet betrayed them, the air became toxic, the water was poisoned, the crops died overnight, the plants attacked them. Anyone who attempted to leave found their ship overwhelmed by vines and crashing down.

Lisara’s father developed a plan and quickly executed it before he died from lack of food or water. He launched his ship, when the vines ensared his ship he put ounce of power into the engines, the vines just pulled harder. He knew that would happen but he still gained more altitude, when he stopped gaining altitude he launched the escape pod with Lisara. Then he cut the engines, the back half of the ship was filled full of fuel, enough to in theory destroy a planet when paired with every explosive he could find. Lisara watched as her father’s ship was yanked down hard and the planet exploded, the explosion then set off a power plant nearby which was interconnected to all the other power plants on the planet. The planet was blown to pieces. Chunks of her home planet collided with her escape pod knocking her out, her body slumped over and activated the cryostasis field inside the pod.

Lisara drifted for five centuries frozen. The pod was eventually picked up by a merchant marine. The merchant marine raised Lisara as his own child. Lisara had trouble getting along with the merchant marine but was secretly grateful to him. He eventually grew old and died, on his deathbed, she finally called him dad and told him how much she loved him and she was glad he was the one to find her. She had been running her dad’s ship for several years as the acting captain when he was not up to it which was most days. After he died she took over as captain fully.
