JP - Ami uses her Powers again
Cody merely took Ami’s hand and went into Colt’s room while Tzeitel and Klaire were arguing again. Inside, the room was clean and sterile, Colt lying in bed with bandages over most of him, even parts of his face. He looked to be in an almost peaceful sleep.
Ami looked at Colt. He looked calm and Ami knew it was just because he was unconscious. "You can't heal him?" She asked Cody.
“Only partially,” Cody admitted. “If I use too much healing power I’ll pass out…do you want to see what all might have happened?”
Ami nodded and carefully touched some unexposed, uninjured skin on Colt.
Colt twitched slightly at the touch and Ami would see each moment as he got pushed from Tzeitel, felt all the guilt for what he’d just done and had to run off to get some air. While driving, he found the guy trying to put out the fire that was his truck and stopped to help, only for Thrane to interrupt and assault them both…The fight was an ugly one where Colt caught fire and was thrown around like a damned ball for a long time until he was thrown down onto the car.
Cody gently touched Ami’s shoulder where her shirt kept their skin from touching. He looked at her with worry.
Ami gasped and switched off her powers. She looked at Cody. “It was terrible.”
“He’ll be okay, though…” Cody reassured her.
Colt groaned and muttered Tzeitel’s name.
“I didn’t see anything useful though, I don’t think.” Ami’s shoulders slumped. Colt was calling for Tzeitel but her sister was not there.
“It’s okay,” Cody told her. “You can’t help it if he doesn’t know anything new.” His eyes went to Colt and his heart broke a little for the man. “I think what he needs most right now is Tzeitel…She’s the reason he’s alive, I’m sure.”
“If she hadn’t pushed him he would not have been where he got hurt.” Ami said.
“I don’t know if that’s true or not. What did he do? Just…go out for a drive or something?” Cody asked, glancing back at the open door.
"He felt guilty for what he did and went for a drive to get some air." Ami said.
Tzeitel finally reached the door.
Cody looked at Tzeitel as she arrived. “Hey…” He said and cringed when Colt muttered Tzeitel’s name again in his sleep. The tone of the wind users voice suggested he was afraid…
Tzeitel cringed too. She did not want Colt to like her, but she could not just ignore him. She went to Colt's side and gave off the nursing cat pheromones. "Relax, Colt." Tzeitel said.
Ami looked from her sister and Colt to Cody hopefully.
Cody shrugged, not sure what to make of this.
Colt relaxed a bit and was able to sleep better, but he was obviously bleeding through his bandages again.
“Shit!” Tzeitel summoned a doctor.
“I really want some oreos and milk.” Ami told Cody. feeling the effects of the nursing cat pheromones. It also had a calming effect.
Cody was feeling the effects too and led Ami out of the room, narrowly avoiding nurses and doctors as they came in to tend to Colt’s injuries. This would, sadly, wake the wind user up, and he’s have to sit, letting them slowly peel off the bandages. His tired eyes went to Tzeitel and he said nothing, guilt forming on his face as he looked away.
Tzeitel could not make eye contact with Colt either. She folded her arms over her chest and looked away too, switching off her pheromones.
Colt made a few noises to indicate pain, but otherwise was quiet and finally let himself watch Tzeitel. He wanted to say something, to apologize, but…he didn’t regret the kiss. He didn’t want to apologize for it while he also wanted to. This was such a frustrating situation. Why couldn’t he just keep his feelings locked away?
The doctors and nurses got down, starting to clean up before they left.
