Wulfsen sheathed his sword, resting his hand on the pommel as he tried to choose inoffensive words to explain why she might not want to go there.

"There's a main road to the wet of the village that leads directly to Portside. It's a long trek by foot, and, er... Portside is very diverse for a very human city. Sometimes elves and dwarfs blend in but Portsiders can range from rude to intolerant towards nonhumans. It might not be safe there for you."

Was there a polite way to tell someone they might get their heads bonked and wake up sold to a traveling freak show? Words failed Wulfsen. But he did have a safer alternative.

"The Keep is much closer and I know the healer is still trying to restock on herbs after those raiders destroyed most of her stores." Wulfsen nodded to the rubble where the healer's cottage once stood, despite the charred wood the scent of herbs still hung over it. "Her name is Difyr Bateman, she'll pay you fairly. I had just sent a runner there, the road north of the village leads to the Keep, you can't miss it. But if you would rather not travel alone we will be going there later today." He shouted the last sentence to be heard over the hammer beating at the forge. The new blacksmith was wasting no time, and good for him. They would be needing a lot from him to rebuild.
