JP with Omni and Lorem
Gonyual seemed to have little love for the thought her question took him to. Voah herself had seen enough fungus to last a life time. She wasn’t sure if she should ask where he was from, not yet ready for the whole Vaux conversation. So instead she continued with the current line of questioning.
“…and now your job has taken you to Aquilo.”
‘To me’ she wanted to say. Instead she just smiled.
He chuckled, “Yes and no. I started living with new family. Greyriver Steading. Making new home and tending land. Still working farmhand job in Ostarium to earn income … help with funds.”
He looked wistfully to the past. That was a good season in life. He wondered how the crops were doing and the orchard seedlings. “But they decided to come here. I no want to not go with them.”
He almost forgot. “Oh and Duke gave me letter to be here. That was nice of him.”
She rolled her eyes at the mention of the Duke. Then she looked over her shoulder at Alexis.
“You’re lucky to have such friends.” Her tone turned somber then, “My work can be quite lonely.”
It would be easier to ask Gonyaul’s story. But she knew the answer would be as long as hers, if not longer. They would have to find spare moments like this to catch up. She thought back to the banquet.
“What else did the Duke give you? As a boon? You certainly looked pleased that day.”
Gonyaul moved closer and whispered with enthusiasm. “Lion fig tree seeds. I know not this tree but going to grow new orchard with them.” He paused, “If I ever go back. But I brought some seeds with me in case. “
Interesting. He seemed like a natural cultivator, maybe he did enjoy farming after all and it was something else that made him go quiet earlier. She would have to remember that.
Voah rested her head upon his shoulder and snuggled up closer to get some of his warmth.
“Figs are very good. Though I haven’t heard of a Lion Fig before. Must be some Salosian thing, seeing how the Duke gave it to you…”
Gonyaul was reaffirmed by her statement that figs were good. These were going to be amazing he imagined, the king of figs hence why they were called lion.
Gonyaul snuggled back enjoying the affection and the additional warmth was a bonus in the current situation.
He turned the questions back on her. She had been getting away with one right after the other.
“What was little Voah like? She break game rules too?”
