Islana finished her second mug, still not drunk but feeling it. Still, after a few minutes of dancing one on one with Boyce, she realized she couldn't do any more of it. Whether it was her nerves, a little too much dancing or something else, she felt the proverbal walls around start to close around her. "I believe I need to sit down. Would you care to join me?"
Wolf gave a warm charming smile to Islana "That is a great Idea. I would be honored to sit with you beside some of the other musicians need help. " wolf pauses listening "a lot of help" then chuckles. He motions for her to lead and points to some would block that are on their ends to sit.
Alexis just found herself a good venture point to enjoy the show for a moment, watching with amusement as the festivities descended into a bit of a chaos.
In a good way for once. She had a feeling they all had needed something like this for a while.
Voah finally made her way to the food and but was stopped briefly by Cagliostro and a cup of tea, which she gladly accepted in her order hand.
He toasted Cambena’s Ward to her. A peaceful year. They wrapped arms around each other’s reaching back through. She tasted the hard alcohol in the tea.
“Bless you, Nicolaus.”
The apothecary smiled and she continued on her way to the meats and roots and berries.
Islana returned his smile and laughed, a little at the comment about the musicans. She sat down next to Boyce and wondered what tune he would regal them with next.
Wolf now pulled his archlute instrument to the front. he started playing trying to get the others to follow as Wolf sings. For Wolf felt good to sit down. Wolf looked around spotting some of the other friends. Falling back to Wolf's old self. making sure they were all right. Wolf looked over to Islana encouraging her to sing with him. Wolf started off with a slow down the music for a slower song.
Voah saw Alexis enjoying the celebration on the fringes of the group. She smiled and nodded to her and went to stand next to her as Blackwolf started to play again.
Islana looked back at him, did he really want her to sing? Maybe, it was the two beers or - no, it was the two beers. She didn't jump in on the first song but the second, a slower song, the second song was a song the young woman knew well. Her voice started out softly but then grew. Into a beautiful sound. Islana had suddenly revealed to everyone here that she could sing.
The young woman made it to the end of the song and looked around as if she had surprised even herself. Islana knew she could sing but the fact it had come out among all these people was shocking and the redhead didn't know what to do next.
Wolf gave a big smile "let's hear it for lady Annora!" shouted Wolf. Still playing he turned to Islana. "You were amazing no need to hide it anymore," said Wolf encouraging Islana.
Gonyaul popped up out of nowhere, like a rabbit on alert in the tall grasses, when he heard Islana sing. Wow. She was extraordinary. Her voice was a blessed gift. He cheered for her, before disappearing amongst the many people still there.
Voah was impressed and cheered Islana for more.
Alexis smiled at Voah as she approached, probably to take a breather.
Looking at the little assortment of food she brought along, that smile turned a little mischievous, as she stole one of the red berries.
The mercenary smashed the small fruit on Voah’s brow, a very simple version of Zin’s ward.
“Good health to you, Voah. May Zin spare you over for another year.”
Voah paused for a moment in unexpected happy shock. She nearly choked on the berry in her mouth as she started laughing. Voah was definitely seeing Alexis’ playful side. She hoped that she could continue being close friends with the woman, maybe like an older sister. She did look up to her.
“Hahahaha… ah my Gods! Thank you.”
Voah bumped Alexis with her hip and and winked at her. Red berry juice dribbled down her face. She left it. There was no escape from Zin.
Alexis chuckled, and toasted to Voah. It was nice to see the dignified Arbiter so carefree for once. Everyone, really.
It was a very special and precious night, and she planned to treasure it as such.
