Escape.
Wim could not take being cooped up inside the walls any more. it felt confining to him. It seemed like prison walls that held him fast.
The Brewmaster had finally had enough of the boy’s grumpy moping attitude that he slammed his large hand down on the desk and said in a very parental tone, “Go away till you can change your attitude!”
There were breaths taken between the first few words and Wim got the message to vacate the brewery before the Brewmaster threw him out a window. Master Sadin was up at the keep talking business. Master Sadir had even less patience with his attitude than the Brewmaster did.
With his heavy cloak, a quiver of arrows, his sword on his hip, and a pack with his tarp and some supplies. He headed to a store to buy a better bow and get some travel food.
Then he was going to find a nice place in the woods with some apple trees, then climb up in a tree and hunt deer. When it was dark he would try the vial again?.
maybe half this time he thought.
He was a bit upset to find he could not get a horse so he started walking.
No one stopped him on the way out the gate, no one even cared that he was leaving the walls. A few of the scouts threw taunts at him with a bow. A few greeting from the men working on the walls made Wim raise hand and waved.
He headed out, to the trees and then he followed the wood line, He found a perch and waited.
