Upon receiving a message of summons, Silina felt a stir of curiosity mixed with caution. The chosen location for this rendezvous, the butterfly tree strongly hinted at the identity of the enigmatic individual who had requested her presence.
With the sun sinking in the sky, casting an orange hue over the camp, Silina made her way to the butterfly tree. Her stride, confident yet measured, aware of the eyes that followed her. Her entourage, a loyal assembly of Aroka warriors and others recently drawn to her, watched silently as she departed, their allegiance to her evident in their attentive gazes.
Silina paused for a moment, taking in the scene. She approached, gracefully, yet filled with an undercurrent of strength. As she approached the tree, the sight that greeted her was a mix of beauty and foreboding. The tree, awash in the evening light, was alive with the fluttering of butterflies, their wings a kaleidoscope of colors against the dead willow. And beneath the serene, living canopy of tranquility stood exactly who she suspected, the same brood-man who spoke to her of spirits.
"You again?" she asked, swallowing her apprehension to sate her curiosity.
Somehow, he knew the boy would accomplish what he had asked. Ch’Truta would need to reward the boy. The coin was a small token. He would attempt to take the youngster under his wing.
Her voice broke him from his meditation. The fluttering colorful wings fluttering in and out of the dead tree with the colors of the setting sun as a backdrop.
He shifted his gaze to her strong features. A warrior indeed. He could see why she had a small following, but nothing like Islana’s.
“It’s something,” Ch’Truta murmured, “from death comes life.”
Silina's gaze followed Ch'Truta's, momentarily captivated by the dichotomy of life and death represented by the vibrant butterflies fluttering around the skeletal branches of the willow.
"It is the very essence of the Twins. The cycle of our world." said the young woman. For a moment, the undercurrent of tension that had brought them together seemed to ebb, replaced by a shared acknowledgment of the natural balance that governed all things. However, Silina quickly refocused on the matter at hand, her curiosity piqued but her wariness intact.
"Why summon me here, brood man? To this place of duality?" Silina asked, her tone a mix of intrigue and challenge.
