Five Unlucky Chums
JP with Lorem, Bandorchu, Omni and Lucian:
Alexis shook her head violently, trying to get the ringing in her ears to stop. What the fuck even was this woman?!
If that was what Allosi brought to the table, she couldn’t quite blame the people of old to have been fucking terrified of them. Seemed almost implausible how they could ever have been beaten.
Definitely not by just five unlucky chums, that was for damn sure. They really, really must have pissed up someone very high up be constantly thrown into the deep end like that.
But again, too stubborn to just give up. Alexis got moving again. She threw her dagger at the head of the woman, aiming higher than her head guard, and drew her sword as she rushed her.
She didn’t hope for much effect mind you, she just wanted the Allosi‘s attention. Most likely Alexis couldn’t do much damage to her even if she did somehow get a hit in, but maybe she could create an opening for someone who could.
Maybe Voah with her sword, for instance, their enemy had definitely acknowledged its properties. Or even Gonyaul with his magik negating powers, who the galla was here for in the first place. If he just would stop fumbling about for a second.
If they wanted the hint of a chance they desperately needed to coordinate.
Gonyaul jumped in his skin at the strange sound coming out of her mouth. To him it sounded like a normal yell, but matching no human or animal noise he had ever heard before. It was interesting. Though what really caught his attention is everyone else seemed very much effected by it, as if they heard something completely different. His friends were visibility rattled, covering their ears in pain, looking disoriented, or growling to fight against vertigo. He could only assume it was magik.
Gonyaul started sprinting towards the stranger. First he had to dodge four horses bolting away from the fight in his direction. ~They had the right idea.~ he thought to himself as he built up more speed. He passed the tinkerer companion, desperately wanting to stop to help him; however, the more pressing priority was up ahead. Gonyaul frowned, displeased with his decision, as he ran.
As he neared, but still a little ways off, he suddenly did a side flip, holding the staff tight. Gonyaul was building additional momentum, he then planted his feet and on the second flip, more forward this time it became noticeable that he transferred the staff completely to his right hand, and in his left hand was his small travel gear pack. He hurled it at the strange woman’s bellybutton. The projectile had more pace than a normal throw due to the windup
Gonyaul landed, and had to pull his feet out of the sand just a little. He was now about seven feet away from their attacker just a couple feet behind Voah and to her left. Even though his weapon had the longer reach, as he held it ready, it brought him no comfort or confidence.
He tried shouting again. Once again in Vauxian. He thought he was speaking Helias, but the adrenaline of the moment had him reverting to his own tongue. “Please, let’s be civil and talk this through.” Sometimes he wondered if people ever listened to the words coming out of his mouth. To add insult to violative situation, the wind and rain slapped him across the face.
The wail that met Tarmen’s ears was a haunting melody that vibrated every bone and muscle in him. He could hear the woman screaming, but to him there was a low rumble within it, though it was different from the one in his head. This was more like a cave in, heavy and echoing, ready to swallow them all.
The arrow fell from his hand, reflexes demanding he cover his ears, yet he refused to let the creature before them out of his sight.
If this was what magic could become…
There was a lingering ring in his ears as he gathered the dropped arrow, anger building at the sight of Ekero laying, unmoving.
The sight of Alexis throwing something at the woman gave him an opening, firing from her other side.
