Time stamp: Sighting of the Baleia

The noise on deck roused Voah from her reading. Many on the ship we’re looking to one side and she joined them in the spectacle. The Beleia was a magnificent specimen of the world’s raw danger and beauty. Such a creature Voah had never seen. ‘Wonderland’. Her mind flashed back to her finger in Diarah’s mouth. She shook the thought away and leaned over the edge in awe, salt spray misting her face, the thumb of her left hand inserted superstitiously between index and middle fingers.
