Voah Enlists
JP with Omni, Lorem, Bandorchu and Lorian
Alexis sighed.
“Listen, everyone. We have all been through shit tonight. And realistically, we are not going anywhere for a while.”
She touched the wound on her face.
“… even though I’d prefer to remove myself, so I don’t risk the rest of you to be found. Allegedly, for now I am supposed to be ‘shielded’. And I guess if I trust Fosia to a degree that I am willing to go through with this madness, then I should trust him with this, too.”
She paused, looking at everyone in turn.
“I have committed to this, knowing full well that I might be terribly wrong. The same isn’t true for any of you however, including you, Gonyaul. I will not ask any of you to act upon what might very well be me being either crazy or naive.”
By now Voah had calmed considerably, after all, Gonyaul was just doing what she suggested and allowing himself to stop fighting it and come face to face with his feelings of being broken.
A large part of this was on Voah and she was willing to admit it, but he had a lot of his own changing and growing up to do.
Considering the circumstances, Voah had to forgive him and move on for now. It’s not like she wanted to end the relationship.
Speaking of moving on… What choice did they have? Each option seemed as dangerous as the next. They were in no shape to do anything on their own. The brotherhood would be hunting for them. The Inquisition would be hunting Voah. Vastad wanted Gonyaul and according to Alexis, his ability probably couldn’t stop the magik of the Twins… and for all they knew, this was exactly what Vastad had planned for them.
Sitting here in the hornet’s nest much longer was folly, so staying together to survive was the best choice they had. On the move and working toward something good. Well… doing good was debatable, but the intention was good.
If they were to die, let it be kicking and screaming. Not that she was afraid to die, rather she was afraid of losing Gonyaul and the promise of their life together, and worse, being the cause of it as it was with her mother and as it nearly was last night. Vastad made it sound imminent due to her own failure.
It felt good to take a play from Gonyaul’s own book, to have given pause and deescalate the conflict between them, opting for some sort of diplomacy rather than continuous blows until it all came crashing down.
As turbulent as it had been, she still felt like she belonged with him; with this whole group for that matter. She determined not to disregard his wishes to join Greyriver Company. It may be good for him to do something like this and they would all be there to help each other.
~So much for avoiding an episode, nnn?~ she thought to herself.
The ex-Arbiter to a breath and spoke so that everyone could hear her.
“I… consider myself fortunate to know you all… and to be accepted by you… as contrasting as it may be at times. I have a deep respect for you all… For my part, I am sorry for the hostility and trouble I have caused… and I want you all to know that I truly appreciate your patience. I am still working on myself.
That said… Alexis, Gonyaul, Tarmen… wherever you decide to go, I will gladly follow, if you will still have me.”
