Alexis gave her companion a sharp nod before diving into cover herself.

They would have to get over there, either to get out or to deal with any additional trouble arriving from that angle.

Easier said than done, as they found themselves outnumbered by the black robes. Just seemed to be the theme for her. Not that she could complain, she could have just gone back to her hideout and tear herself apart over it for the rest of her days.
Nah. It might be absolutely stupid and suicidal, but at least she was staying true to her absolutely stupid and suicidal self.

Alexis made use of the very short window of opportunity where her opponents had to orient themselves and relocate their targets to stick her blade into the floor and grab one of the sacks lying about. Whatever was still in it felt sufficiently heavy to double as an impromptu projectile and she threw it at the closest enemy not unlike her people would throw hammers and the like for competition on festival days. Though not throwing them at people in that peaceful setting, of course.

She hurried to dislodge her sword and made a dash in the direction of the hatch, only barely managing to whirl around and parry the first attack of the very fast curved blades.
She shifted to a defensive stance as she slowly retreated towards to hatch, hoping her temporary friend had been able to make use of the short surprise advantage and withdrew one of the daggers she had confiscated from her quarry’s peer with her off hand.

While she tried to keep moving in a way that denied them the chance to surround her, her mind flashed back to holding just the kind of sabre-like blades the assassins were carrying, swiftly going over the properties she had deduced then.

Fast and light, made for cutting more than stabbing, to focus the force at the impact point and to slide along the opponent’s blade.

She adjusted accordingly, making use of her sword’s guard and utilizing the dagger to parry and redirect, all the while looking for an opening.

~Let’s give them a run for their money.~
