Acts of Vengeance - I
JP with Omni and White_Caribou
Too angry to be afraid, Voah stood, gritting teeth through the pain of the bitter shock of magik. She awaited the witch’s approach just outside of a wide beam of moonlight that cut all the way through the roof of the abandoned building. Disturbed dust and sand filled the space like tiny dancers performing a slow, chaotic, aerial ballet.
A grin crossed Shalia's face when she brought the spear into both hands, light from the moon reflecting off the silvery pauldron as she crossed quickly toward the woman. In her grip a sheer frost covered the spear but her gaze was the coldest of all.
"Miss me?" she shouted in Helian, her mixed accent strong. The witch twirled the spear once in her hands before swinging the blunt end of it squarely toward Voah's head. The dark robe had gradually moved to the holy woman's right upon entry and drew his daggers, rearing an arm back to aim one through the visually obscured area.
Voah ignored the mocking words from the monster who shared her mother’s Mizaran features and dodged the first blow from the witch’s spear. The movement allowed her to spin and strafe to the left while preventing herself from being flanked.
She held her sword at bay for the moment, gathering information from her senses until she got a better understanding of exactly how many enemies she was up against. She tended to thrive against multiple opponents and for now there were only two with the possibility of more soon. She kept an ear out for Gonyaul and was not pleased to hear the sounds of his distress coming from the other side of the building. It only fueled her with anger.
From the brief glimpse Voah had caught in the moonlight she was able to determine that the second enemy was one of the dark robes. Alcuin said she was staying at the temple… So… why was the witch allying herself with the dark robes too?
When the witch swung her spear again it was met by the Holy Sword as Voah tested her skills. From her movements, the ex-Arbiter could tell the witch was certainly trained with the weapon.
~Damn! Spears again!~ They seemed to be Voah’s nemeses. There would be little time to keep playing defense from this point, so Voah hoped the “Hound” would not be joining their fight.
