Broken masonry

Gonyaul laid on the ground for a few seconds as the wind was pushed from his lungs with the impact. Small stones and pieces of sun baked mud fell on top of him, and a particular large slab of masonry landed on top of his left leg.

He felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and realised he had fallen on top of the arrow jutting from the dead man's neck. The pain however was nothing compared to the one on his face. Reaching up he felt a slab of flesh hanging loose against his cheek.

He was bleeding from several places now and could feel a small lump growing on top of his head.

He heard the rushing sound of footsteps coming from different directions from the street and the dim sound of battle somewhere inside the building.

A few rocks flew into the hole in the wall he had crashed through but no one followed through after him just yet.
