Now the woman healed by blood magik was back on her feet with more vigor than before and headed straight back to Voah like some kind of revenant.
Standing next to another egg, Voah bisected it and turned around to go after the witch again, who was now at the far side of the circle. She froze at the sight of the ensorceled woman, who should have been dead, swiftly bearing down on her. The revenant woman slashed at her wildly, nearly cutting her down in the same fashion done to her. Voah's two handed grip held and she knocked the revenant's blade away quickly. She knew she had to stay light on her feet with these curved blade fighters, but dodging around meant she lost sight of the witch.
"Lam'isid!" Voah cursed.
Alcuin batted off the furious strikes of his last opponent who was not prepared to die, but the older man's stamina was wearing and the dark robe had him stumbling and down on his knees. Alcuin held the man's single blade between the two he held crossed then rolled to the side and slashed out at the man's knee. The blow took him to a knee and Alcuin scrambled to his feet, throwing sand in the man's eyes and brutally driving his own sword downward through his clavicle as far as he could shove it. Blood spurted up and out, onto Alcuin's face, who gritted his teeth in utter savagery.
Voah realized she might have to take another blow to find a good opening to defeat this revenant woman who has come back quicker and stronger than she anticipated, but after a short time of defending, Voah saw that her movements were easy to read. Now she just needed to wait for the right moment. Finally came the expectant lunge and Voah let it pass along her arm, grabbing the revenant's arm by the wrist with her off-hand (thank you again, Tarmen) and pulling her forward to slide the Holy Sword right into the chest.
The revenant woman gasped in shock as she took the piercing blow and was kicked backward off of the blade by Voah and into the flames of a torch. Soon the revenant's robes were engulfed and she flailed silently.
her head in a swivel, Voah looked for any sign of the witch. Nothing… she had disappeared into the night and Eruehin was no help.
