What's in the Barrel?

JP with Winteroak and Omni

Malacost felt a thrill run down his spine and his blood stirred, as the two stalked through the war camp of the heathen. He licked his lips under his scarf. Part of him longed for the congress of violence. Part of him wished they would get to spill blood tonight. It had been too long.

In Kru'll they had a saying about men like Malacost. Those that hunted with two bows strung.

The Arbiter had set her sights on finding out about the barrels the Dark Robes were transporting. Truthfully he would not have given it a second thought if he was alone. Likely rations, he thought, but he was willing to trust her instincts. This is what she was trained to do.

Although her strange relationship with the young man still caused him concerns and suspicion, he pushed that aside for the time being as the two of them passed two guards and exchanged grunts and nods.

Alcuin had remained a fairly quiet, yet eager participant throughout the duration of their scouting trek around the main host.

As they neared the camp of the dark robes, they found another dune in the shadows to post up on, this one much closer. For a few minutes, Voah lay inclined on the dune, peeking over and focusing her attention on the camp, watching and waiting patiently whilst passing thoughts to herself. She was taking note of the numbers, movements, weapons, layout, and any indication of what further activities to expect. There were seven dark robes in total and they were all armed with similar swords and daggers as the "hound". Though it didn't look like he was present.

Alcuin was so quiet now, that Voah nearly forgot that he was still standing there until he sighed and softly uttered something.

He was pointing out and nodding to a change in activity. Two of the dark robes were unloading barrels from the wagon and carrying them over into a large tent. The way the figures lifted and transported them with care told her the contents weren't necessarily heavy so much as... delicate perhaps? Important? It made the anticipation of discovery of all the more enticing.
