Taste of Wine and Destruction

Shalia gladly accepted the glass with a chuckle. "Seems we have the same idea, then," she mused before taking a long drink, seating herself at a nearby round table. "I've drank much more than I care to admit the past few days."

Her eyes scanned his chamber, taking in the shape and décor silently. Definitely fitting for a man of his position. Was that bed larger than her own? Was that even possible?
She focused back on him and spoke softly. "I have some questions, though I know you've had a great many things on the mind already; I'll keep the professionalism brief. Think we would both much rather sit and drink than dwell on everything like usual. Can become tiring quickly," she smiled back, nodding politely to the seat across the small table from her.

He joined intrigued be her words but glad for them. He brought the nearby clay jug closer so the wine continued to flow.
"You have my attention." He smiled again

She took in a sharp breath. "I am officially decreeing that the Odonine and Ozainae will work together for the goals of the treaty, with or without a Seer to send out the call to arms. That is, once the Prophetess business resolves. I am sure you will need that in writing somewhere for the records but...where do we go from here? What comes after this Trial process--however it ends?"

Tamazzalt nodded at her words taking it all in. "The last Seer foresaw that the Horde would be raised." He grinned. "I simply attempted to speed up the process. Many Septs are already gathering. Come Winter I hope that our forces are at our enemy gates." He looked into her eyes, surprised that he was starting to see her as one of them. An Arcadian. If not by birth by right.

"After the Trial the spirit of the immortal Seer enters her vessel and the cycle begining again. Of course this time, those who have been foreseen to come from across the sea are actually at our shores. They mark the end according to our Tenets. And most be stopped decisively. Utterly destroyed. So that no one else dares set foot on our lands from Helias." His voice grew cold as steel.

Shalia refilled her half-drank glass, listening with slow nods of understanding. But before she continued with her short string of heavier questions she needed to ease him up. Didn't need him putting up sturdy walls now.

"Well, if it means anything, you've held the city and the Septs together through trying times. Maintained control in the face of the unexpected. That says something great about your capabilities. About you..." Her soft tone remained but paired with a mixed look of envy and admiration.

Tamazzalt demanded power and respect that was unmatched among his people. A deeply intriguing quality for a leader. Even if it was said primarily to stroke his ego--which she had deciphered was a dominant aspect of the man--it did hold some truth.
He was a skilled diplomat and she played the majority of it by ear. He was also a powerfully educated magik weaver while she casted by heart and instinct. Qualities she could not deny the quiet jealousy of or the hunger to obtain.
