With The Others

After standing so much, earlier in the day, Islana spent a good part of the time in her room, resting her ankle and thinking.

Her mind on what had occurred with the council earlier. She wasn't surprised that they didn't believe her, maybe the Skara story helped, maybe it didn't.

The young woman was more focused on how the people in that room didn't intimate her; not even the man in the center.

Her father's stories of what those in power did to those like her combined with Vasant's abuse; had made Islana scared of most authority figures. That fear was gone, which felt different, better.

The vegetables weren't bad, but Islana wasn't one to be picky. She ate and was about to go back to resting when it seemed to be time to be led elsewhere. Islana once again, grabbed her knife and walking stick.

More empty corridors, but was eventually led outside. The gardens seemed nice, even at night. It would be nice to see them in the daytime; maybe eventually.

The sound of her name being called by a familiar voice, and the arms around her waist made her smile. The woman hugged the girl back, both of them being careful of the huntress' injured arm.

"Madaya, it's good to see you." She responded, in Ozanine, to the girl.

Looking up, her green eyes gazed upon the other penitent. Islana greeted the young woman in typical Ozanine fashion with the fingers to her head and then chest.

The other penitent returned the greeting and then introduced herself as Silina. While Silina likely heard their names, Islana introduced herself and Madaya just to be sure.

Silina looked to be in her teens; likely a little younger that Islana. Her features were pure Ozanine. Dark hair, eyes, skin.

Her green eyes noticed the brown ones of the young woman taking her in as well. Islana figured she was surprised to see a fire haired, green eyed, foreigner.

The two of them were trying to figure out what to say to each other when Islana noticed Silina looking at her knife.

"Would you like to see it?" When Silina said, that she would. Islana showed her the knife.

Silina asked about it; Islana was about to recount the story but then remembered Madaya, who loved retelling it was there.

It took just asking the young girl and Madaya went into retelling the story of the Skara and how Islana got the knife. Islana didn't really feel like recapping that again, and was glad Madaya was more than willing to.

Silina seemed to listen intently, Islana couldn't tell if she was that interested in the story or if it was more sizing her up. It was likely both.
