Faith?

Tar was surprised at the question. Then again maybe it was a simple assumption to make. It went back to the question he often asked himself.

~Did he have a choice? Or was this simple his fate?~

"I was shown how Fang was a long time ago. Under the influence and control of the Fire-Priests." He started slowly enjoying the evening cool wind on his face. So different from the sharp cutting air of the mountains. For the first time in a long time words came easy and it felt good to speak of things that had gone unspoken for far too long.

"And how the coming of Noraura threated centuries of Fosia's worship. Back then Fang was a thriving civilization. One of the most advanced in Arcadia." He explained although he knew he could never truly verbalise everything he was show. It had broken part of his mind, himself, he knew.

"A single voice rose among the faithful calling for tolerance between the creeds, but went unanswered." He continued. "But not unpunished. This woman was exiled to the Desert of Skulls and in the burning scorching sands found The Twins Gods. Dust and Water." He explained unsure if she could understand the parallels between what should have happened in Fang and what had gone to take place in Gra'akast, the Holy City and how that single act of betrayal doomed Fang and Fosia.

"She became Seer Locust. The deaf prophet of 'The Wandering'. She raised the first Sand Horde and the Ozainae swept the Odonine of old away in a tide of blood and violence." He explained trying to keep the other voices in his head silent.

"Fosia fell then. The heart of the mountain lost its heat and grew cold under the ministrations of Noraura. The Odonine placed their lot in her hands for to survive. So that one day they could raise again." He paused for a second allowing Alexis to digest what he had relayed.

"But it isn't faith that drives me. I later found out the boy was a simple mountain spirit. Many are those that shun or attack them in that form. And to those that do, death comes swiftly." He explained. "Those that are kind are often reward. Although my reward feels more like a curse..."
