Survival Tips

JP with Omni and Lorem:

Both had shared moments of deep sorrow, secrets hidden beneath. For Gonyaul, it was a mystery he could not yet place, leaving a hole for belonging, worth and acceptance. For Voah, the blame, anger and guilt she had so fiercely been holding onto ever since that terrible day. The wounds had been brought into the light; not yet healed but mending.

Their vulnerability met by kindness formed a deeper understanding and appreciation for the other. But also, the fact that when at such a low and revealing moment, the other did not turn away in disgust or pass judgement. Instead, love met them where they were and helped lift them out of the quagmire.

Their conversations turned more relaxing and light hearted as they continued towards the horizon. Gonyaul was showing Voah everything the Odsier had taught him, one to build up her capabilities as well as to reinforce his knowledge of them. Currently he was digging up a plant whose roots contained water, very much pleased with the application of what Tiponi had taught him.

Voah listened carefully. If the two of them were going to survive, they would need to learn as much as they could from each other. Voah’s survival skills were lacking compared to Gonyaul’s. She had some education in naturalism and medicine but not much actual experience, but she was still able to help identify certain plants, animals, and insects that could be used for eating, first aid, and other things.

They kept their eyes out for anything that would come in handy and made quick stops when they could to forage such items.

Trees were scarce on the plains, but that just made them easier to see from a distance. The trees were useful to climb and get a slightly higher vantage to look out for animals to hunt, hints of war, or anyone in pursuit.
