The sun rose over the Bay of Pearls and gentle waves of the ocean licked at her ankles as Voah Sahnsuur walked across the beach; prayer beads in one hand and a smoking censer in the other.
Not without her doubts, she said goodbye to the previous chapter of her life across the sea and welcomed this new one with whatever it brought to her.
It was going to be a full day. For the next few hours, on this day, Voah would bless the harvest with whomever decided to join her; be it Acolyte, follower, or curious commoner,
Starting at the coast where the fisherman cast their nets, then moving on to the fields, the orchards, and the cookfires where vendors were beginning to cook their late breakfast meats, Voah paraded with her censer.
She passed Wim Riese's ale stall in Suncross Square, where she nodded to him. She had asked him to join her as a guest to the party at the keep on this night.
At midday, Voah joined the Friar at Kupen's shrine where he introduced her to the gathering congregation. The Acolytes walked amongst the crowd handed out apples or pouring ciders.
"T'is the season of celebration! Let us rejoice in the bounty of our labor, not just in the crops we have tended and harvested, but in the fruits we reap from our relationships with family, friends, business partners, lovers!"
"May the harvest be as rich as the seeds we sow." chanted the crowd in response.
Voah continued, "And beware, although we may take in excess and overindulge in this jubilation, we must remember to balance our pleasures with what we have earned and transfer or salvage what may perish."
"May the harvest be as rich as the seeds we sow." the crowd said once more.
"We must do this for the health and survival of all; to not only continue, but to prosper. Share the bountiful basket, the overflowing cup of our Goddess Hoi."
With that, she raised a cup of hot spiced cider to the crowd.
