Truths and Lies

JP with Omni and Lorem

Voah blinked away the brief sleep and sat up with her furs. Together they nibbled on the what passed for a post battle meal. One of these days they would have a feast… soon she hoped. The two of them ate in silence for a moment, just taking in each other’s company

After they had supped and hydrated, Voah made herself comfortable under the fur, she bade Gonyaul to hold her.

Gonyaul didn’t need to be asked twice to hold her, it was like wrapping your arms around beauty itself come to life. After they finished eating he cuddled up tightly next to Voah. She was on the inside of the furs and he, still dressed, remained on the outside. The temptation was tremendous to dive in underneath the furs with her; however, his self control would have been instantly overcome and he knew it. He snuggled up as tight and comfortable as he could, save keeping his hips further back and away, for obvious reasons.

This moment was beyond anything he could have imagined being able to experience. In fact, it was so amazing how this woman could constantly push his limits of happiness to new levels. And just when he thought they had reached his limits of joy, she could raise them higher than he thought possible to feel.

They looked at each other.

“How did life get so complicated?” she asked him, brushing away some of the hair draping down the side of his face.

He gave her a short and sweet kiss. Then another, this time savoring longer their flavor and softness.

He began to speak; however, had to bury his face mid sentence to yawn. “Truth is simple, not truths in life make complicated.” He whispered sleepily.

She considered that. “You mean… the unknown?”

“Unknown is known by something or someone. Nothing unknown. Learn as go, all unknown at start. Is fun to learn and know.”

He was drifting in and out, fighting so hard to stay awake longer with her. This probably caused him to skip over words or fail to add a sentence or two, from his teachings; thinking he was saying them but in all actuality he didn’t because he almost dozed off.

“Lies make hard and live not kagim make hard.”

As he continued to melt into holding her, his hips sank closer and when they touched the fur covered curves of Voah, he bucked backwards. He blushed embarrassed and wiggled his hips a little further back and away, while drawing his upper body closer.

She felt him, but that isn’t why she began to chuckle, slap-happy on the verge of sleep, “…I have no idea what you just said haha…”

Kagim? Must have been a Vaux word.

Gonyaul smiled, sometimes he didn’t know what he said either.

Gonyaul opened his eyes to look at her as he asked, “What you do if not complicated?”

She shifted a little, onto her back and caressed the arm that draped over her. What would she do?

“…I don’t know. I suppose I would be more certain of my actions... Wouldn’t have to worry about my choices.” she said softly.

Her caress felt wonderful, even if he was wearing a long sleeves.

He nuzzled closer, his breath falling gently onto her neck. He whispered, “What worry you?”

He had witnessed Voah overcome the impossible. She seemed capable of taking on anything and emerging victorious.

She stared upward into memory and admitted, “The world. Everything.”

Her answer was succinct but extremely vague. She had a lot of responsibility resting on her shoulders already with being the only Arbiter, to her knowledge, in a land rife with magik. And now some Arcadian entity was speaking her name regarding some grand importance of the future of the people and the land. Had her choices already affected them?

Gonyaul had several follow up questions to her response; however; decided to ask at another time since she immediately moved it to another topic.

“Tell me a beautiful lie… a fantasy.” she said.

He looked at her with a cute puzzled expression, “What mean you by this? I never lie.”

She turned onto her elbow, facing him now.

“You… really don’t… do you?” her eyes searched his for deception and knew she wouldn’t find it.

Since she had known him, he really had been just brutally honest with her, even when she was hallucinating his responses were genuine but twisted to sound like mockery or secrecy. She could ask him anything, interrogate him, and be delivered the truth? That would be handy later.

“…Tell me something that isn’t true, but should be…” she said, giving him one last peck before rolling over to nestle into him like a puzzle piece.

He nodded, “Would stop kagim if lie. No do ever.” He said this more to himself than to her, very firmly.

Her kiss made him light up like a firefly in the night. He sighed, the sound was saturated with absolute bliss.

As she moved into him he could feel himself also wanting to fit like a puzzle piece. It was hard to think, which he thought was peculiar. It took him awhile to formulate a thought, it was obvious he was physically yearning and mentally flustered.

Finally, he thought of something. Though he wasn’t sure if it was what she was asking. It was a truth that really wasn’t followed, so it seemed a lie to so many.

“We all have so much more in common than we are different.”

If it was a lie, it certainly sounded like the truth when Gonyaul said it. She lost herself in the thought of such a comment and was soon out like a light.

Gonyaul continued to watch her sleep for a little while longer. With how things had been going he was trying to milk every moment as long as he could. Soon though he too was asleep.
