Dust & Water
Among the myriad of Septs that make up the peoples of the Desert of Skulls, known to their neighbours as the Ozainae, the mighty Sand Horde, the God of Dust and the Goddess of Water, are the twin figures of the longest lasting religion in Arcadia.
'The Wandering' as it is known is a duotheistic faith founded upon the revelations of the Prophetess Locust.
The central tenets of 'The Wandering' faith deal with the dual nature and transcendence of the twin Gods Dust and Water, who represent Life and Death in the great Desert in the Hearth of Arcadia. They believe all other gods are false, who are considered demons and unholy by the Ozainae.
The priests and priestesses of the religion are known among the Spets as Air-Weavers and Water-Bearers. They travel the hot expansive dunes of the desert, offering consul and maintaining the oral traditions to the Septs. They act as judge and jury in disputes, and often executioner, to those that turn their face from the Two True Gods and to any enemies of the faith. This ancient order of notorious priest-sorcerers of the Ozainae, are based in lost city of Gra'akast, where they serve the immortal and perpetual incarnations of Sister Locust.
The city of Gra'akast, sometimes referred to as "The Jewel of the Great Oasis", in the depths of the Desert of Skulls is an ancient capital still crammed with numberless secrets. Although much of the city is uninhabited, the central temple is still the home to the Seer, Sister Locust, The Wanderer Prophet, and her numerous servants and acolytes.
An ancient prophecy of 'The Wandering' is that the end of times is upon the world.
The time draws nearer when heartless men with swords of steel will cross the seas and build cities of stones by the shores. They will bring their false gods in a war against the land. With them comes the end of the old ways in Arcadia...
And when that day comes the Sand Horde must rise once again like the Maelstrom, and destroy the pagans and their demon lords...
